To beat Level 15 on Normal mode in the Age of Origins minigame, build a concentrated kill zone around the map's sharp turns instead of spreading un-upgraded defenses along the full path. Anchoring turns with slowing towers keeps enemy swarms clustered directly inside the splash zone of upgraded Rocket Launchers, while forward and trailing Machine Guns eliminate fast runners.

Defensive Tower Roles

Level 15 features fast runners that sprint ahead of waves, followed by dense packs of standard infected and high-health armored targets. Managing these waves requires combining three core tower types:

  • Machine Gun Towers: Deal rapid, single-target physical damage. They excel at picking off low-health sprinters and eliminating stragglers that leak past area-of-effect zones.
  • Rocket Launchers: Deliver long-range explosive area-of-effect (AoE) splash damage. Placing them where their firing arc covers multiple bends ensures every rocket hits clustered groups.
  • Laser and Electromagnetic Towers: Apply movement slows and continuous damage. Placing a slow field inside a Rocket Launcher's blast radius multiplies the explosive damage dealt to passing swarms.

Avoid placing multiple un-upgraded Machine Guns along straight lanes. Un-upgraded single-target weapons lack the damage output needed to pierce mid-wave armor scaling, causing waves to overrun your barricade.

Step-by-Step Wave Strategy

PhaseBuild PriorityStrategic Goal
Waves 1–51 Machine Gun, 1 Rocket Launcher at Turn 1Eliminate fast runners and save gold to upgrade corner towers to Level 2.
Waves 6–101 Slow tower at the central bend; Level 3 Rocket LauncherTrap dense clusters inside overlapping splash damage zones.
Waves 11+1 Fallback Machine Gun and secondary defense at the final turnBurn through armored bruisers and pick off any leaked sprinters.

Waves 1–5: Early Turn Setup

Place an initial Machine Gun tower at the first corner, backed immediately by an AoE Rocket Launcher positioned to cover both the entry and exit of the bend.

The Rocket Launcher damages advancing groups while the Machine Gun cleans up fast hounds and unarmored runners before they pull defensive targeting away from the pack. Do not spend gold building defensive structures near your base during these opening rounds. Instead, invest your starting funds into upgrading your primary corner towers to tier 2 to maximize damage per second across two path segments.

Waves 6–10: Central Choke Point Control

Between Waves 6 and 10, enemy volume increases substantially. Construct an Electromagnetic or Laser slowing tower at the apex of the central intersection. This slows incoming packs directly beneath the firing arc of your Rocket Launcher.

Once the slow field is active, upgrade your central Rocket Launcher to tier 3. Tier 3 rockets deliver heavy burst damage capable of wiping out dense clusters of basic infected in two volleys. Continue leveling your front Machine Gun to assist with armored targets that survive the initial rocket barrage.

Waves 11+: Handling Armored Packs and Leaks

The final waves combine massive armored units with high-speed shock runners. Because machine guns naturally lock onto the lead target, heavily armored mutants can absorb all single-target fire, allowing fast runners to slip past unaffected.

To counter this split-targeting issue:

  1. Place a cleanup tower downstream: Position an auxiliary Machine Gun slightly past your main choke point to catch fast units that bypass your primary damage zone.
  2. Fortify the final corner: Build a secondary defense at the last bend before your command bunker to finish off weakened armored targets.
  3. Reinvest static gold: If your front towers no longer have targets in range during the last wave, sell them for partial refunds and channel those resources into upgrading your terminal defenses.
