To progress efficiently in Angel Legion, invest early upgrade resources into accessible SS heroes rather than low-star SSS units. Build your starter lineup around one primary single-target SS damage carry, one durable frontline tank, and a backline support or healer.

While SSS units offer higher base stats at their maximum potential, a lack of duplicate copies quickly traps them at low star ranks. High-star SS units unlock passive talent tiers, higher level caps, and stronger skill multipliers much earlier, giving your account the power needed to push campaign stages and defeat resource bosses.

Why SS Heroes Outperform Low-Star SSS Units

Level caps and team power in Angel Legion depend directly on star promotions and awakening milestones. SSS characters require rare duplicate copies primarily found through events and premium summons. If you cannot pull duplicates, an SSS hero caps out at five or six stars, freezing their level and stalling your campaign progress.

By contrast, SS hero shards appear reliably through standard summons, campaign clear rewards, and recruitment shops. Ranking up an SS hero raises your team's level cap, which accelerates stage progression and increases idle resource yields.

Frontline Tank Investment

Combat targeting in Angel Legion routes standard attacks and early enemy burst damage directly into the frontline. If your frontline drops before your backline can act, your damage dealers will be eliminated before charging their ultimate skills.

Invest in a single, dedicated frontline tank rather than splitting resources across two defensive units. Look for kits that provide mitigation and utility rather than raw health alone:

  • Shields: Absorb burst damage at the start of battle and resist early crowd control.
  • Crowd Control: Stuns, taunts, or knockbacks that interrupt enemy rotations and give your healers time to cycle abilities.
  • Self-Sustain: Built-in regeneration or lifesteal that eases the burden on your backline healer.

Keep your primary tank's armor enhancements and defensive equipment directly behind your main carry. Pairing one heavily invested tank with an extra support provides more survivability and clear speed than running two under-leveled tanks.

Carry Priority: Single-Target Over AoE

Concentrate your highest-tier offensive gear, enhancement stones, and experience chips into one primary damage dealer. When choosing your first carry, prioritize single-target boss damage over wide-area wave clearing.

High-health bosses in campaign stages and daily guild boss trials feature strict turn-limit enrage timers. Defeating these bosses unlocks advanced recruitment tickets, equipment refinement materials, and higher gear tiers. A single-target nuker ensures you break through these progression walls.

Once your single-target carry reliably beats boss enrage checks, begin funding a secondary area-of-effect (AoE) damage dealer to clear multi-target campaign waves and Star Trial encounters. Splitting resources equally between two offensive units early leaves neither strong enough to penetrate enemy shields.

Support and Healer Requirements

Every viable team requires at least one healer or buffer to sustain the frontline and cycle combat buffs. Support units do not require high star ranks or heavy stat investment to perform their roles, as their value comes from utility mechanics rather than raw offensive stats.

  • Percentage Scaling: Team-wide heals, damage amplification, and cleanses operate effectively based on skill percentages.
  • Energy Generation: Supports that feed energy to your main carry allow your damage dealer to cast ultimate abilities before enemy units retaliate.
  • Gear Priority: Equip supports with gear that provides energy regeneration and skill cooldown reduction rather than flat attack power.

Place supports in the backline away from incoming frontline fire to keep them alive through extended fights.

Hero Resets and Transitioning to SSS

Angel Legion includes a reset function that refunds 100 percent of the gold, experience, and enhancement materials spent on a hero for a negligible resource fee. Because resources are fully recoverable, upgrading an SS hero early does not penalize your account long-term.

Manage your roster transitions with the following rules:

  1. Protect Natural SS Duplicates: Never use natural SS heroes as generic promotion food for lower-tier characters. Save them for awakening milestones.
  2. Monitor SSS Duplicate Copies: Keep rare SSS units on the bench until you recruit enough duplicates for their star rank to surpass your active SS carry.
  3. Reset and Transfer: Once an SSS unit overtakes your SS carry in star promotions, reset the SS unit to reclaim all materials, then immediately level and equip your new SSS carry.
