Build your Animation Throwdown: CCG deck around character-and-item combos that use cards you already rely on. Before investing in an upgrade or research project, check whether the resulting combo fits your deck.

Choose combos that support your core cards

A combo uses a character card and an item card to create a card with its own traits. Rather than building around a single high-rarity card, identify the characters and items that make up the core of your deck, then look for combinations between them.

Show themes such as Family Guy or Futurama can help you focus your choices. Check the combo preview before committing resources, and prioritize combinations that fit the theme and cards you actually use. A combo that requires cards outside your deck’s core may be harder to use consistently.

Prioritize research for cards you use

Use the Research Chamber to research combos for your frequently used character and item cards. Since research takes time, choose projects that support your current deck rather than filling the queue with combinations you may not use.

  1. Identify the character and item cards you use most.
  2. Check which combinations they can form and whether those combos fit your deck.
  3. Research the combinations that support that deck first.
  4. If you have speed-up items or gems, reserve them for longer research projects you consider essential to your deck.

This approach keeps your research focused on combinations you can put to use, instead of spreading resources across unrelated cards.
