Playing Ryoma in the jungle requires building full physical burst, clearing from your Blue Golem to secure a fast level 4 rotation, and initiating ambushes from brush using the edge stun of Skill 2 (Wailing Shadow). Unlike Ryoma's Slayer Lane setup, the jungle role sacrifices hybrid defensive durability to act as an assassin who snowballs early skirmishes and secures neutral monsters.

Core Jungle Item Build

Ryoma does not use mana, so cooldown reduction directly increases his rotation speed, sustain, and gank availability. Build Soulreaver first to maximize monster damage, followed by armor pierce and burst enhancers:

First Clear and Pathing Route

Starting at the Blue Golem provides immediate cooldown reduction, accelerating your ability rotations across the remaining camps so you hit level 4 in time for the first duo-lane clash.

  1. Blue Golem: Level Skill 2 (Wailing Shadow) first. Stand at the edge of the pit to hit the golem with the outer half of the blade for maximum damage, weaving in your passive basic attack (Naginatajutsu) for the bonus reach and slow.
  2. Inner Camps: Level Skill 1 (Pin Weapon) at level 2. Flick the ability backward to dash forward over thin jungle walls, shaving seconds off camp-to-camp travel.
  3. Red Golem and Spirit Sentinel: Clear the Red Golem camp, saving Punish to execute the main monster and prevent enemy steals. Secure the nearby Spirit Sentinel if the river is uncontested.
  4. Lane Arrival at Level 4: Reaching level 4 unlocks Ryoma's ultimate, Spectral Pounce. Rotate directly into the adjacent lane's brush to ambush overextended enemies.

If facing an enemy jungler with a weak early game, you can invert the route by starting at your Red Golem and invading the opposing jungle at level 2, relying on Ryoma's early base damage to force enemy defensive talents.

Ambush Execution and Gank Combo

Ryoma lacks sustained crowd control, meaning successful ganks depend on striking from fog of war before targets can react.

  1. Initiate with Wailing Shadow (Skill 2): Cast from brush when the enemy overextends past river midpoint. Ensure the outer half of the blade hits the target to trigger the stun.
  2. Trigger Naginatajutsu: Follow immediately with an empowered basic attack to apply a slow and proc Omni Arms bonus physical damage.
  3. Reposition with Pin Weapon (Skill 1): Aim the marker backward to dash toward the target, dealing damage as you close the distance.
  4. Finish with Spectral Pounce (Ultimate): Channel your ultimate directly into the target to deliver rapid multi-hit thrusts. This deals heavy execute damage while restoring Ryoma's health if the enemy roamer counters.

Objective Control and Late-Game Positioning

When taking the Abyssal Dragon or Dark Slayer, stand near the rim of the pit facing away from the enemy side of the map. This stance allows you to quickly leap over the pit wall using Pin Weapon if enemies collapse, or reposition inside to secure the kill with Punish. Save Skill 2 when the monster drops under 20% health so you can stun any approaching enemy jungler attempting to contest.

During late-game 5v5 teamfights, do not initiate from the front. Wait out the initial wave of hard crowd control along peripheral choke points, then flank directly onto enemy mages and marksmen with Skill 2 and Skill 1. Once your burst combo finishes, kite backward using Naginatajutsu's extended range until cooldowns refresh.
