To win the Dark Slayer (DS) Lane as Superman in Arena of Valor, avoid static, toe-to-toe trades against sustained duelists like Allain, Lu Bu, or Omen. Instead, use your mobility to clear minion waves in a single ability cast, rotate ahead of your lane opponent, and disrupt enemy positions across the river and mid lane.

Maintaining Flight Mode

Superman relies entirely on his passive energy meter. Moving continuously builds this meter until Superman enters Flight Mode. While airborne, his basic attacks knock enemies back and deal damage based on a percentage of his maximum health, while his abilities transform into gap-closing and initiation tools.

Halting, colliding with walls, or absorbing hard crowd control drains the gauge and drops Superman back into Walking Mode.

To keep your flight gauge ready:

  • Path in arcs: Circle inside brush or behind friendly structures rather than standing still.
  • Conserve Ability 2: Save Man of Steel to break crowd control. Activating it purges control effects and grants a burst of movement speed to help recharge your passive meter.
  • Disengage immediately after hits: Once you deliver an empowered strike, immediately break away to restart your movement cycle rather than remaining stationary to trade normal auto-attacks.

Wave Clearing and Lane Harass

Clear the minion wave immediately at level one using Flight Mode Ability 1 (Kryptonian Strength). Aim the heat vision beam through both the melee and ranged minions while catching the opposing laner if they step forward. Clearing the wave in a single pass lets you hit level two first and establishes priority.

When harassing an enemy laner under defensive positioning:

  1. Move behind their minion line while in Flight Mode.
  2. Hit the enemy with a flying basic attack to push them away from their turret and toward the river.
  3. Switch immediately to Walking Mode Ability 1 to slow them with ice breath.
  4. If the enemy retaliates with slows or stuns, activate Walking Mode Ability 2 to cleanse the debuff and sprint back to open space to recharge your flight meter.

Roaming Routes and Rotations

Because Superman clears minion lines faster than standard warriors, you have consistent windows between waves to rotate across the map.

Avoid running straight down the river where vision birds and enemy scouts can see you. Take wider pathing behind river brush to approach the enemy mid laner from their blind side.

Teamfight Initiation and Combos

In teamfights, Superman acts as a primary initiator using his Ultimate, Speeding Bullet. Activating this skill knocks back nearby enemies and doubles the charge rate of his flight meter for ten seconds, allowing him to re-enter Flight Mode in roughly two seconds.

Do not initiate head-on into tanks. Flank through jungle corridors to reach the backline, then execute the engagement sequence:

  1. Approach from a blind spot while in Flight Mode.
  2. Cast Ultimate (Speeding Bullet) to disrupt the enemy formation.
  3. Sprint briefly to regain full flight energy via the accelerated meter.
  4. Land a flying basic attack on the enemy marksman or mage to knock them into your team.
  5. Follow with Ability 1 to deal burst damage.
  6. Use Ability 2 to cleanse incoming crowd control and safely reposition to recharge for another pass.

Item and Talent Builds

Superman requires a balance of physical penetration, cooldown reduction, and defensive bulk.

  • Boots: Gilded Greaves reduce the duration of crowd control to protect your flight meter.
  • Offense: Spear of Longinus or Rankbreaker provides physical penetration and cooldown reduction. Late in the match, add Fenrir's Tooth for execute damage or Blade of Eternity for a revive passive.
  • Defense: Shield of the Lost or Mail of Pain offers armor and mitigation against physical carries. Gaia's Standard or Medallion of Troy provides magic defense and mobility against spell damage.
  • Talents: Run Purify to negate hard crowd control during teamfight initiations, or Sprint to overcome slows when pursuing targets across open map areas. Adjust your defensive purchases based on the opposing team's primary damage source.
