To clear high-difficulty combat stages in BattleCry: World War Game, shift from an aggressive frontline push to a defensive strategy focused on unit survival. Spread your units along the perimeter of the battlefield, retain a portion of your reinforcement reserves for enemy breaches, and save tactical ability cooldowns for elite targets rather than basic enemies.
Tactical Unit Placement and Edge Control
Clustering your squad in the middle of the arena exposes them to concentrated area-of-effect damage when large enemy waves arrive. Positioning your squad along the outer edges forces hostile units to split up as they approach, limiting how many enemies can attack your frontline at the same time.
Using the perimeter creates choke points that allow long-range units to deal damage safely. This placement forces enemy pathing toward your most durable units first, giving you time to pull wounded soldiers back before they are eliminated.
Managing Wave Aggression and Reserves
Late-stage combat encounters feature sequential enemy waves that increase in speed and damage. Deploying all squad units immediately leaves your defensive line vulnerable to sudden breaches.
- Hold reserve units: Keep a portion of your army off the field initially so you can instantly replace fallen frontline soldiers.
- Observe spawn points: Track where dense waves enter before committing specialized combat units.
- Target backlines: When a crowded wave spawns, target enemies behind the front line to stop incoming damage from building up.
- Avoid chasing low-health enemies: Final enemies in a wave often have increased speed or stats. Maintain formation rather than breaking rank to finish off isolated targets.
Timing Defensive Cooldowns and Kiting
Special unit abilities should be reserved for high-threat moments. Using tactical cooldowns on standard units wastes resources needed for elite enemies with high health pools or fast attack speeds.
When elite enemies reach your defensive line, trigger special abilities to minimize burst damage. If your line begins to break under heavy pressure, pull your squad back a short distance. Moving units backward forces incoming enemies into a tighter line while buying time for ability cooldowns to recharge.
If fast melee units threaten your perimeter, adjust your unit deployment order to prioritize high-fire-rate or crowd-control units to slow their advance. Avoid pulling units into narrow map corridors where fast-moving forces can easily swarm them.
| Strategy | When to Apply | Expected Benefit |
|---|---|---|
| Perimeter Spacing | Stage Start | Reduced area-of-effect damage taken |
| Reserve Holding | Mid-Wave Breaches | Immediate frontline replacement |
| Ability Timing | Elite Unit Spawn | Reduced burst damage on frontline |
| Tactical Kiting | Final Wave Push | Extra time for cooldown regeneration |

Good guide for BattleCry: World War Game players. The strategy part was useful.
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
This saved me time in the early game.
Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
