To optimize familiar augments in Bit Heroes Quest, assign augment types that match your familiar's combat role, establish a baseline set of Epic augments across your active roster, and reserve high-tier crafting materials for your most heavily stabled units.

Augments attach directly to stabled and active familiars. They add passive combat triggers, survivability statistics, and offensive multipliers that scale familiar utility in higher dungeon tiers and raids.

Familiar Augment Slot Types

Familiars possess dedicated augment slots that accept specific categories. Each category governs a distinct functional aspect in combat:

  • Brain Augments: Provide conditional combat triggers, including chance-on-hit abilities, damage-triggered barrier shields, turn-start team healing, or bonus attacks. The Brain dictates the primary combat reaction of the familiar.
  • Bone and Skeleton Augments: Supply flat and percentage-based defensive mitigation, such as damage reduction, total stamina scaling, evade chance, and block values.
  • Core and Chassis Augments: Modify turn-order pacing, team passive auras, and resource sustain to help familiars act before enemy turn meters fill.
  • Subverter and Chip Augments: Boost offensive proc coefficients, including critical strike chance, empower chance, life steal, and flat damage multipliers.

Augment Rarity and Investment Priority

Augments scale from Common up to Mythic. Higher rarities feature higher base statistics, wider trigger ranges, and stronger secondary effects. Because crafting higher-rarity augments requires substantial resources, stage your investments based on roster readiness.

Do not spend crafting currencies or materials upgrading Common or Rare augments. Save your materials until you can craft and slot Epic augments across your entire starting lineup.

Role-Based Augment Setups

Match augment effects to the familiar's natural battlefield responsibilities to avoid wasted slot capacity.

Frontline Tanks

Tanks such as Shrampz, Oladus, and Glarzdos need sustained damage mitigation to absorb multi-hit bursts:

  • Brain: Barrier shields triggered when taking damage, or retaliatory heals.
  • Bones / Skeleton: Percentage damage reduction, block chance, and redirect mitigations.
  • Avoid: Pure critical strike or offensive damage triggers.

Direct Damage Dealers

Offensive units require burst capabilities to eliminate threats before enemy ability cycles complete:

  • Subverter / Chip: Empower chance and critical strike damage multipliers.
  • Brain: On-hit bonus attacks or turn-start offensive procs.

Healers and Supports

Support units require consistent triggers that sustain the frontline:

  • Brain: Team cleanses, group heal bursts, or shields triggered upon casting an ability.
  • Core / Chassis: Speed tuning to ensure the support acts ahead of enemy damage dealers.

Bait Units

Bait familiars direct single-target boss attacks away from vulnerable teammates:

  • Bone / Skeleton: Maximum evade chance and redirect stats.
  • Brain: Damage reflection or retaliate procs on incoming strikes.

Crafting and Managing Augment Materials

Acquire raw augments and materials through Raids, Trials, Gauntlets, and event shops.

To manage augment crafting efficiently:

  1. Recycle surplus drops: Dismantle duplicate, low-tier, or unwanted augments to recover crafting components.
  2. Craft base boxes: Use recovered materials to roll augment boxes targeted at Epic rarity until your active team is fully equipped.
  3. Prioritize stabled familiars: Augment attributes scale in overall combat effectiveness when placed on familiars with higher stabling ranks. A fully stabled (+5) familiar equipped with an Epic augment will consistently outperform an unstabled base familiar equipped with a Legendary augment.
  4. Target endgame rolls: Once your core roster holds full Epic sets, direct all subsequent crafting materials toward Legendary rolls for your +5 frontline tank and primary DPS.
