To get Bor'lan in Bit Heroes Quest, farm Zone 1 (Ashvale) to capture the Common familiars Bob and Mer'lan, obtain the Bor'lan schematic drop, and fuse them in town. Bor'lan serves as the most accessible early-game healer, providing the sustain required to push through early flags and dungeons where basic equipment and potions fall short.

Required Materials and Drop Locations

Crafting Bor'lan requires three components, all found within Zone 1. You do not need access to raids or special events.

ComponentRarityDrop LocationCapture Cost
Bor'lan SchematicRareZone 1 Dungeons, Flag Bosses, and ChestsNone (random drop)
BobCommonZone 1, Dungeons 1 & 2Persuade with Gold
Mer'lanCommonZone 1, Dungeon 3 (Mist Dungeon)Persuade with Gold

The Bor'lan schematic drops randomly from enemy packs, bosses, and clear chests across Zone 1. You do not need to target a specific mob to find it.

When Bob or Mer'lan offer a persuasion chance after combat, always spend standard Gold instead of Gems. Common familiars have manageable Gold persuasion rates, allowing you to save premium currency for high-tier upgrades later.

Why Bor'lan Excels in Early Dungeons

Unfused common familiars lack dependable recovery skills and have poor stat balance. Bor'lan fixes this immediately due to several core mechanics:

  • High Agility and Magic Power: Bor'lan's stat weighting prioritizes turn speed and spell strength over Stamina. This lets Bor'lan take frequent turns and heal injured allies before enemies can finish them off.
  • Targeted and Group Healing: Bor'lan possesses a single-target burst heal to save low-health allies and an area-of-effect team heal to counteract enemy cleave damage.
  • Low Skill Costs: In turns where incoming damage is low, Bor'lan uses a low-cost offensive magic projectile, ensuring energy is never wasted.

How to Farm and Stable Bor'lan

A base fusion gives an immediate power boost, but maximizing Bor'lan requires the Familiar Stable. Stabling identical copies increases Bor'lan's stats by set percentages, boosting both survivability and heal amounts.

  1. Farm on Heroic Difficulty: Run early Zone 1 dungeons on Heroic whenever your Energy pool permits to maximize capture rate bonuses and experience gains.
  2. Collect Duplicate Captures: Continue capturing Bob and Mer'lan after securing your first fusion. Reaching a fully maxed +5 Bor'lan requires six copies of Bob, six copies of Mer'lan, and six completed fusions (one base familiar plus five stabled duplicates).
  3. Craft at the Fusion Tab: Open the town crafting menu, select the Fusion tab, and pay the Gold fee to create Bor'lan once you have the schematic and ingredients.
  4. Deposit into the Stable: Navigate to your familiar roster, select Bor'lan, and deposit duplicate copies into the stable slots. Aim for at least +3 to +5 before tackling tougher Zone 2 and Zone 3 boss flags to prevent Bor'lan from dying to incidental area damage.

Combat Formation and Team Placement

Bor'lan has low base Stamina and cannot survive direct frontline attacks. Always shield Bor'lan using a standard three-unit battle formation:

  • Front Slot (Tank): Place a dedicated defensive tank in the front position to absorb direct strikes. The craftable Common fusion Shrampz is the standard early companion to pair with Bor'lan.
  • Middle Slot: Place your player character here if you are running an offensive damage build. If your character is built with high Stamina as a secondary bruiser, your hero can occupy either the front or middle slot.
  • Back Slot (Healer): Place Bor'lan in the rear position. This protects Bor'lan from single-target melee strikes and lets the familiar cycle heals without interruption.

Upgrading Past Bor'lan

Bor'lan remains effective through Zone 3, but its utility falls off in Zone 4 and higher raid tiers. As a Rare familiar, Bor'lan has lower stat caps than Epic or Legendary alternatives. When you hit mid-game stat checks, begin working toward Epic healers such as Remmyt.

Do not sell, exchange, or release your stabled Bor'lan when upgrading your active team. Bor'lan is a required ingredient for late-game fusion recipes, including the Legendary familiar Bor'luna. Keeping your stabled Bor'lan in reserve protects your early farming investment.
