The Dart Farm Ace (DFA) loadout in Bloons TD Battles pairs the low cost of the Dart Monkey with the economic generation of the Banana Farm and the high-tier screen-clear potential of the Monkey Ace. To play DFA successfully, establish cheap early-round defense, greed safely into Banana Farms, use Juggernauts and Triple Darts against mid-game grouped bloon rushes, and rely on Monkey Ace's Ground Zero ability to clear late-game MOAB-class threats.
Early-Game Dart Openings and Farm Timing
Your opening goal is to place a Banana Farm on Round 1 while spending as little as possible on track defense.
- Place your first Dart Monkey: Position a single Dart Monkey near a curve or junction where it can hit bloons across multiple bends. Upgrade it to 0-2 (Enhanced Eyesight) to handle early spaced red and blue bloons while securing camo detection.
- Buy Farm 1 on Round 1: Purchase an unupgraded (0-0) Banana Farm immediately once the initial Dart Monkey is down.
- Upgrade to 2-0 Farm: Work the Farm up to 1-0 and then 2-0 before Round 4 ends.
- Deploy a second Dart Monkey: If the opponent sends grouped blues or greens, place a second Dart Monkey and upgrade it toward 2-3 (Triple Darts).
- Upgrade to Plantation (3-0): Between Rounds 6 and 9, upgrade your 2-0 Farm into a 3-0 Plantation during quieter rounds.
Greeding too hard on Farms without defensive adjustments leaves you vulnerable to fast pink or green sends between Rounds 4 and 6. If the opponent starts sending grouped bloons, pause farm investments and complete your 2-3 Triple Darts upgrade immediately.
Managing Banana Farm Upgrades and Cash Reserves
Banana Farms dictate your tempo and determine whether you have enough cash to defend sudden mid-game pushes. Focus on upgrading existing farms rather than spreading unupgraded ones across the map:
- Prioritize quality upgrades: Two 2-0 Farms provide a safer return than scattering multiple 0-0 Farms across the map.
- Maintain liquid cash reserves: Keep $800 to $1,200 unspent from Round 11 onward so you can react immediately to unexpected rushes.
- React to continuous pressure: If the opponent begins continuous black sends on Round 8, pause all farm upgrades until your track defense stabilizes.
- Understand sell values: Selling a Farm refunds 70% of its total invested gold, providing an immediate cash injection when an emergency upgrade is required.
Round 13 is the primary choke point in Bloons TD Battles. Aggressive opponents frequently send all-out regrow rainbow or zebra bloon rushes at this stage, so have your defensive upgrades ready before the round begins.
Defending Mid-Game Rushes
Mid-game defense centers on combining Juggernaut projectile pierce down straightaways with Triple Darts cleanup. When bloon density rises, add a Monkey Ace upgraded to 2-3 (Operation Dart Storm).
| Threat Type | Primary Tower Defense | Support Action |
|---|---|---|
| Grouped Leads (Rounds 10–12) | 4-0 or 4-2 Juggernaut | Aim shots straight down long track lanes |
| Regrow Rainbows (Round 13) | Two 2-3 Triple Darts + 4-2 Juggernaut | Activate Tower Boost if rush density spikes |
| Regrow Ceramics (Rounds 16–20) | 4-2 Juggernaut + 2-3 Operation Dart Storm | Set Monkey Ace flight path to Circle |
| Spaced MOABs (Round 18) | 2-3 Operation Dart Storm | Set Monkey Ace flight path centered on the track |
Position the 4-2 Juggernaut so its heavy spiked balls roll directly down incoming lanes. This alignment allows a single shot to pierce through multiple regrow layers. Use 2-3 Triple Darts monkeys to mop up any faster bloons that escape the primary line of fire.
Handling Blimps with Monkey Ace Ground Zero
Against packed MOABs and BFBs between Rounds 20 and 24, rely on Monkey Ace's tier 4 ability, Ground Zero (0-4). Activating Ground Zero wipes every regular bloon, ceramic, camo, and MOAB on the screen, while stripping BFBs down to damaged MOAB layers.
Execute Ground Zero defense through the following sequence:
- Wait for blimp clustering: Allow incoming BFBs to travel roughly one-quarter of the way along the track so they group together.
- Activate Ground Zero: Trigger the ability to destroy all escort bloons and damage the outer blimp layers.
- Clean up remaining cores: Let your 2-3 Operation Dart Storm and 4-2 Juggernauts pop the cracked MOAB shells and ceramic children.
- Re-buy for extended rushes: If facing continuous BFBs or ZOMGs, sell an upgraded Farm, sell the spent Ace, purchase a new Ace, and immediately buy the 0-4 upgrade to fire a second Ground Zero.
Do not trigger Ground Zero for a single isolated MOAB on Round 18. Conserve the ability cooldown and rely on Operation Dart Storm and Triple Darts to pop solitary blimp layers.
Loadout Limitations and Map Considerations
Dart Farm Ace depends heavily on map geometry. Because the Juggernaut relies on straight flight paths to maximize pierce, DFA struggles on maps that lack straight corridors. On short, winding maps where Juggernaut shots exit the track quickly, shift your mid-game budget away from extra Juggernauts and invest earlier into 2-3 Operation Dart Storms.
Additionally, DFA requires active Farm micro against high-tier threats. A single Ground Zero does not completely eliminate a full-health ZOMG layer on Round 22 and beyond. You must either pressure the opponent with counter-rushes to force them to defend, or sell Farms rapidly to chain multiple Ground Zero activations.

Good guide for Bloons TD Battles players. The early game part was useful.
I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
The explanation is clear, especially for beginners.
