The Ninja Mortar Farm strategy in Bloons TD Battles pairs the direct popping power and slowdown of the Ninja Monkey with the splash damage and camouflage stripping of the Mortar Tower. This setup allows you to handle aggressive mid-game rushes with minimal tower expenditure so you can invest your cash heavily into Banana Farms.

Early Game Setup and Farming (Rounds 1–8)

The early objective is to place and upgrade Banana Farms before Round 8 without overspending on defensive units.

  1. Place your initial Ninja Monkey near a bend or straightaway where shurikens can travel through multiple bloons along the track line.
  2. Upgrade the Ninja to 1/1 (Ninja Discipline and Seeking Shuriken) to clear red and blue bloons.
  3. Place your first Banana Farm on Round 1 or Round 2.
  4. Upgrade to a 2/1 Ninja Monkey if your opponent sends early spaced pinks or grouped greens that threaten to leak.
  5. Deploy the Mortar Tower in a safe corner or back area, aiming its targeting reticle directly at the choke point where the Ninja attacks.
  6. Upgrade the Mortar to 0/2 or 1/2 to clear grouped bloons with splash damage. This defense is sufficient to upgrade your initial Farm to 2/0 and place a second Farm safely.

Defending Round 13 Regrow and Camo Rushes

Round 13 is the primary inflection point in competitive matches. Opponents frequently send boosted, high-density rushes composed of camo regrow rainbows, leads, and zebras. Defending these rushes requires a precise upgrade sequence:

  • Build a 0/3 Signal Flare Mortar before Round 12 ends. Target the blast reticle over the earliest track intersection so bloons are stripped of camouflage immediately upon entering the map.
  • Upgrade your lead Ninja Monkey to 4/2 Bloonjitsu with Caltrops as soon as an opponent commits to a heavy bloon send.
  • Place a secondary 2/3 Ninja Monkey (Flash Bomb) near the front of the track if the incoming rush includes heavy clusters of lead or zebra bloons. The flash bombs stun packed targets within the Mortar's strike zone.
  • Trigger your Tower Boost only when the rush reaches the effective firing range of your 4/2 Bloonjitsu to maximize damage while bloons are decamoed.

Executing this defense cleanly lets you hold off all-out Round 13 rushes without selling your Banana Plantations, leaving your opponent drained of offensive income.

Handling MOABs and BFBs (Rounds 18–22)

Mid-tier blimps require active ability management rather than spamming static towers:

  • Round 18 MOABs: A single 4/2 Bloonjitsu and concentrated Mortar fire can break the initial blimp layer, but the four ceramic bloons inside can overwhelm your defense at standard speed. Activate the 2/4 Bloon Sabotage ability when the MOAB cracks. This reduces all bloon and blimp movement by 50% for 15 seconds, giving your shurikens and shells sufficient time to pop the ceramic children.
  • Round 20 and 22 BFBs: Place two 2/4 Sabotage Ninjas so their abilities can be staggered across extended pushes. Keep your Mortar reticle fixed on the area where the BFB shell will break to strip camo from the four underlying MOABs instantly.

Late Game Counter-Rushing

When an opponent commits heavily to an offensive Round 22 ZOMG or layered Round 24 push, rely on ability stalling and farm liquidation:

  1. Trigger Bloon Sabotage immediately to slow the opponent's blimp push by 50%.
  2. Sell your 3/0 Banana Plantations to gain an immediate pool of liquid cash.
  3. Send a counter-rush consisting of a layered ZOMG or fast regrow ceramics with camo.

Because your opponent expended resources on offense and must defend at normal speed, their defenses are likely to collapse against your counter-rush before the slowed blimp reaches your exit.
