To defeat the Knight of Blood Warlock in Browndust2 - Adventure RPG, adjust your team formation during the preparation phase to keep squishy units off the boss’s target tiles, conserve Skill Points (SP) for key burst turns, and restore health proactively before high-damage hits.

Grid Positioning and Formation

The Warlock’s primary attacks use area-of-effect patterns that severely penalize grouped formations. You can minimize incoming damage by reviewing the boss's targeted tiles during the battle setup and placing your units out of direct danger.

  • Spread units across the grid: Avoid stacking fragile support characters or squishy damage dealers on adjacent tiles where a single skill can hit multiple allies.
  • Isolate single targets: Force the boss to waste area attacks on empty space or a single tanky unit capable of taking the damage.
  • Check attack indicators: Reconfirm unit placements prior to locking in your turn sequence to ensure no character remains on highlighted attack zones.

Turn Order and Skill Point Management

Defeating the Warlock requires steady turn planning across several rounds rather than dumping all your resources in turn one.

  1. Initiate with high-impact skills: Use crowd control, turn pushbacks, or debuffs early in the turn cycle to blunt the boss’s actions.
  2. Conserve Skill Points: Avoid spending all SP immediately. Alternate between basic utility moves and low-cost attacks to preserve SP for high-damage nukes when the boss is vulnerable.
  3. Set up DPS openings: Time your primary damage skills to trigger when buffing or debuffing effects are active to maximize damage output.

Exploiting Range and Displacement Skills

The Warlock remains vulnerable to attacks coming from diagonal angles and rear ranks.

  • Long-range and cross-pattern skills: Deploy units with cross-shaped or ranged attacks to strike the Warlock safely outside his direct attack lines.
  • Displacement tactics: Use knockback or repositioning skills to shift the boss onto different tiles. Even a single-tile shift can cause his area-of-effect abilities to miss key party members completely.

Healing and Burst Mitigation

Because chip damage accumulates over multi-turn encounters, reliant positioning alone will not prevent casualties. Bring a dedicated healer or a character with lifesteal to sustain your team.

Trigger your healing abilities mid-turn while damage dealers are on cooldown or waiting for SP to regenerate. Healing proactively keeps your party at high health percentages, preventing the Warlock's burst phases from eliminating low-HP units in a single strike.
