To achieve a one-credit clear (1CC) in the arcade version of Castlevania, map your attack button to a rapid-fire setting and maintain maximum spacing at the tip of your whip's reach. Rapid-fire eliminates gaps between whip strikes, while defensive positioning keeps you out of range of fast-moving bosses and strict enemy hitboxes.

Enable Rapid-Fire Controls

The primary attack key should be set to auto-fire or rapid-fire whenever your controller or platform setup allows it.

• Maintain Attack Coverage: Manual button presses leave brief frames of vulnerability. Rapid-fire creates a continuous wall of whip attacks that prevents fast enemies from closing distance.
• Reduce Input Strain: Automating rapid strikes lets you concentrate entirely on precise movement, ducking, and positioning during intense boss phases.

Master Max-Range Spacing and Boss Patterns

Arcade bosses hit hard, and recovery windows are unforgiving. Survival relies on maintaining maximum distance rather than aggressive close-quarters pushing.

1. Position at Maximum Whip Range: Stand near the absolute edge of your whip's horizontal reach. This allows your attacks to connect while keeping you outside the boss's immediate melee hitboxes.
2. Bait Attack Animations: Hold neutral position just outside enemy threat zones to trigger boss attack animations.
3. Execute Hit-and-Run Volleys: Step in to land a rapid-fire volley during the boss's recovery frames, then immediately retreat before it resets its movement pattern.
