To execute a successful Fallen Witch attack in Clash of Clans, deploy heavy frontline tanks to absorb high-damage defenses, clear wide exterior funnels to keep your summoners moving inward, and activate the Grand Warden's Eternal Tome as the core push hits the Town Hall and splash clusters.
Army Composition and Siege Choice
The Fallen Witch strategy relies on frontline tanks to shield the summoners from direct burst and splash fire.
| Unit Category | Recommended Composition | Housing Space Role |
|---|---|---|
| Main Tanks | 2–3 Root Riders or Ice Golems | Soak point defense damage and break outer compartments |
| Primary Core | 8–10 Fallen Witches | Generate continuous summons and deal ranged damage |
| Funnel Support | 1 Baby Dragon, 2–3 Wizards | Clear exterior perimeter trash to funnel the core army |
| Backline Cleanup | 2 Headhunters, 3–4 Minions | Eliminate enemy heroes and clear remaining peripheral structures |
| Spell Loadout | 2 Rage, 1 Overgrowth, 3 Freeze, 1 Poison | Power the core push and disable high-threat defenses |
Choose your siege machine based on the layout of the base:
- Log Launcher: Select when you need to pierce through multiple internal wall layers directly toward key targets like the Eagle Artillery or Town Hall.
- Siege Barracks: Select when you need immediate flank control; the deployed P.E.K.K.A and Wizards will clean an entire edge, keeping your witches centered.
Funneling and Deployment Order
Fallen Witches feature unpredictable pathing if exterior structures remain standing. Leaving trash buildings up causes the witches to split along the base perimeter, exposing them to defensive splash fire.
Execute your deployment in four steps:
- Clear the first flank: Deploy a Baby Dragon or your Barbarian King on one corner of your entry face to remove three to four non-defensive exterior structures.
- Clear the opposite flank: Deploy your Archer Queen or a Siege Barracks on the opposite corner to establish a narrow central path.
- Send in the tanks: Release your Root Riders or Ice Golems along the cleared center channel toward outer walls or target defenses.
- Deploy the witch line: Spread your Fallen Witches in a horizontal line behind the tanks, followed immediately by the Grand Warden set to ground mode.
Avoid dropping all Fallen Witches in a single cluster. Spreading them horizontally prevents Giant Bombs and Scattershots from eliminating your primary summoners before they begin generating units.
Hero Equipment Setup
Equipping heroes with sustain and crowd-control abilities keeps the core army moving through heavy defensive compartments:
- Barbarian King (Giant Gauntlet, Rage Vial): Provides high single-target damage to clear perimeter storages independently, or supplies area-of-effect damage reduction in the core against Ricochet Cannons and Multi-Archer Towers.
- Archer Queen (Frozen Arrow, Healer Puppet or Invisibility Vial): The Frozen Arrow continually slows single-target defenses such as Monoliths and Single-Inferno Towers, allowing witch summons to overwhelm point defenses.
- Grand Warden (Eternal Tome, Healing Tome or Life Gem): Triggers invulnerability and survivability across your witches when entering the base core to counter Eagle Artillery volleys and the Town Hall Giga Poison blast.
- Royal Champion (Rocket Spears, Seeking Shield): Deployed along an outer flank after the main army breaches the center to snipe perimeter defenses that could pull witches off course.
Spell Timing and Core Progression
- Overgrowth Spell: Cast onto a distant, high-threat defensive compartment (such as a cluster with a Scattershot, Multi-Inferno, and Monolith) on the far side of your entry. This temporarily suppresses those defenses and routes your troops directly through the immediate center.
- Rage Spell: Place your first Rage Spell as tanks make contact with the outer defensive layer to speed up summon rates and punch through walls quickly.
- Freeze Spell: Reserve exclusively for Multi-Target Inferno Towers, the Monolith, and Town Hall beams.
- Poison Spell: Drop directly onto enemy Clan Castle troops or defending Skeleton Traps to prevent your witches from getting distracted and stalled.
Avoiding Common Attack Failures
The primary fail condition for this strategy is sustained splash fire striking the witch pack. If frontline tanks push too far ahead through jumps or open compartments, your Fallen Witches become exposed to Ricochet Cannons and Scattershots.
Counter this by ensuring your Grand Warden stays directly behind the witch wave rather than drifting toward flanking heroes, and use Freeze Spells to stall heavy splash defenses whenever tank coverage slips.
