Supercell has announced an initial wave of quality-of-life fixes to address navigation friction, visual legibility issues, and touch-target problems following the recent Clash of Clans interface overhaul. These changes target the army training menu, persistent menu states, clan chat visibility, and button hitboxes. To apply these adjustments, download the update through your app store once the new client build goes live.

Persistent Tab Memory Across Menus

Following the initial interface redesign, closing a multi-tab panel automatically reset the view back to the default tab. This forced players to re-navigate menus every time they closed a window to inspect their base.

The announced update restores sticky state functionality across primary submenus:

  • Builder Overview: Reopening the construction tab preserves your active filter or targeted building list instead of scrolling back to completed upgrades.
  • Shop and Magic Items: Returning to the shop keeps your selected category active rather than defaulting to featured purchase bundles.
  • Navigation Efficiency: Base management requires fewer repeated inputs between attacks because screens reopen where you left them.

Army Training and Quick Train Adjustments

The redesign added navigation steps to standard troop queuing. The announced revision consolidates training queues and brings Quick Train back to an immediate, single-tap position.

These revisions ensure that army presets are accessible without toggling secondary sub-panels, reducing the risk of deploying into battle with incomplete spell or troop rosters.

Clan Chat and War Indicator Improvements

Clan communication suffered from cramped layouts and rapid log displacement. The upcoming update separates user communication from automated system notifications:

  • Chat Drawer Sizing: Conversation windows are resized so ongoing messages do not get pushed offscreen by oversized system alerts.
  • Distinct System Banners: Troop donation requests, friendly challenges, and elder promotions receive distinct visual separation from typed player chat.
  • Clan War Status: War indicators are moved to a more prominent location within the clan tab, allowing members to check battle day status, remaining attacks, and open targets without opening nested menus.

Visual Contrast and Tap Target Enhancements

To resolve misclicks and visual fatigue on smaller mobile displays, Supercell is updating visual assets and hitbox boundaries:

  • Text Contrast: Low-contrast dark grey text on semi-translucent slate backgrounds is replaced with higher-contrast lettering, bolder outlines, and sharper icons. This improves readability for upgrade timers, resource costs, and laboratory research countdowns.
  • Expanded Hitboxes: Interactive elements—including buttons for switching village layouts, opening settings, and entering village edit mode—feature enlarged physical tap boundaries to prevent accidental inputs.

Client Update Requirement and Future HUD Options

These interface fixes will arrive through an upcoming optional or mandatory store update. Update your Clash of Clans app via Google Play or the Apple App Store as soon as the build becomes available to ensure your menus receive the corrected hitboxes and tab memory.

Broader visual customization options, such as repositioning the chat drawer or resizing the primary attack button, remain under evaluation for future development patches.
