After stopping an opponent’s push, support surviving defenders only if their remaining health and your elixir make another commitment reasonable. If they are nearly defeated or you are behind on elixir, let them go and prepare to defend again.
Decide whether to counter-push
Use the state of the match to choose your next move:
- Check what survived. A defender that can still contribute may be worth supporting. You do not need to protect a low-health unit at any cost.
- Check your elixir. If supporting the unit would leave you short of a response to the opponent’s next attack, avoid adding more troops.
- Consider the opponent’s cards. Track what the opponent has played. If a card that counters your win condition is unavailable in their current cycle, that may create an opening—but it does not guarantee a successful push.
- Choose whether to commit. Add support when the defender and your resources justify it. Otherwise, let the unit expire and reset your cycle.
When to hold back
If you have an elixir disadvantage, prioritize defending rather than forcing a counter-push. A failed attempt to create pressure can leave you with fewer resources for the next threat.
If your hand does not have the cards you need, cycle through cheaper cards when it is safe to do so. Avoid cycling into an immediate defensive problem; the goal is to reach a more useful rotation without overcommitting.
The practical rule is simple: turn a successful defense into pressure only when you can afford the support. When you cannot, preserve your next defensive response and wait for another opening.

This helped me understand strategy much better.
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
The explanation is clear, especially for beginners.
Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
