Defensive placement in Clash Royale relies on spending fewer resources than your opponent to clear incoming pushes. Placing defensive units in the center of the arena draws enemy troops away from your towers. This kiting maneuver forces enemy tanks and high-damage threats to travel farther while entering the range of both Princess Towers simultaneously.

Precision placement is required at high skill levels. A misplacement by a single tile can cause an enemy unit to lock directly onto your tower rather than following your defensive troop.
