To play Golem and Skeleton Army effectively in Clash Royale, deploy your Golem behind the King Tower to build a slow lane push, and save your Skeleton Army to neutralize heavy single-target attackers after they cross the bridge. Never drop your Skeleton Army before enemy troops lock onto a target, or your opponent can wipe them out immediately with cheap area-of-effect spells like Zap or The Log.
Building a Golem Push
The Golem acts as a heavy tank anchor that absorbs incoming damage and forces your opponent to defend a specific lane. Because of its high elixir cost and slow move speed, optimal positioning is essential to avoid leaving your towers unprotected.
- Deploy at the Back: Place the Golem behind your King Tower when your elixir bar is nearly full. This gives you time to generate elixir as the Golem slowly walks toward the bridge.
- Support with Ranged and AoE Troops: As the Golem advances, place supporting ranged or area-of-effect units behind it to clear enemy swarm troops that threaten your tank.
- Save a Buffer: Always keep 3 to 4 elixir in reserve during your push so you have resources to defend the opposite lane if your opponent aggressive pushes away from your Golem.
If your opponent successfully stops your Golem push, do not spend additional elixir reinforcing that lane. Retreat to defense, let your elixir recover, and reset your cycle.
Defending with Skeleton Army
Skeleton Army excels at melting high-damage, single-target melee threats like Prince or P.E.K.K.A in seconds. However, individual skeletons have very low health and fall quickly to area-of-effect damage from units like Valkyrie or Baby Dragon.
- Timing the Drop: Wait until the enemy unit crosses the bridge and locks onto your Crown Tower or a high-health unit before playing Skeleton Army.
- Surrounding the Target: Position the swarm directly on top of the enemy unit to create a pincer attack. Surrounding the target forces it to waste attack animations turning around, maximizing your damage output.
- Baiting Spells: If your opponent relies on spells like Arrows or Fireball to clear your swarms, track their spell usage. Deploy Skeleton Army only after they have spent their main defensive spell on another troop.
Arena Positioning and Elixir Control
Defensive trades rely on pulling enemy units away from your Crown Towers to minimize incoming damage.
- Center Pulling: Place cheap distraction units in the middle of the arena to pull incoming troops toward the center. This forces the attacking unit into the firing range of both Crown Towers simultaneously.
- Counter-Push Transitions: When your defensive troops survive an opponent's push, place a supporting troop at the bridge ahead of them to immediately transition into a counter-attack while your opponent is low on elixir.

This helped me understand strategy much better.
The explanation is clear, especially for beginners.
Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
Nice guide. I am checking the other Clash Royale articles next.
