Use Mighty Miner’s ability to switch lanes after your opponent commits defensive resources to one side. The switch can leave a bomb behind, but save enough elixir to handle the counterattack; don’t switch just to create pressure if it leaves you unable to defend.

When to switch lanes

The ability is most useful when your opponent has committed a defender or swarm to Mighty Miner’s lane. Switching then can move him to the opposite lane while the bomb threatens troops near his starting position. Your opponent may have to respond on both sides.

The lane switch does not guarantee tower damage. If the opponent can defend the new lane, or you cannot support the attack, hold the ability instead of spending elixir on a speculative push.

Support the attack

Mighty Miner can be stalled by swarm troops, so keep a spell such as Zap or Arrows available if your deck includes one. A secondary threat such as Wall Breakers or Hog Rider can also make the opponent choose which attack to answer. These are options from the draft, not requirements for every deck.

Use him on defense

You can place Mighty Miner to draw an enemy troop, then switch lanes to change its target or path. Use this only if the move helps protect your tower; don’t spend the ability when keeping him in place would be enough to defend.

If he survives the defense, consider whether you can support a counterpush before committing more elixir. The draft describes Mighty Miner as a Champion, but it does not provide enough detail to establish a reliable cycle plan or an exact ability cost.
