To beat Level 2740 in Colony Flow!, clear the outer flank units first to open movement channels, keep at least two holding dock slots empty, and resolve horizontal blocking pieces before triggering deep vertical columns.

Opening Flank Strategy

Level 2740 locks dense clusters of matching colors behind outward-facing perimeter pieces. Tapping interior units immediately is impossible, and sending mismatched exterior units into your dock will trigger a rapid fail state.

Begin your board clearance on the exterior flanks:

  • Clear single-color flank lines: Tap outer pieces that can exit the board immediately into an active target. This widens turn radiuses so adjacent units can navigate corners without colliding.
  • Cycle active collection goals: Clearing complete exterior paths cycles new color requirements into the target holes, allowing deeper colors to be accepted.
  • Leave isolated corner units alone: Do not tap bottom-corner units in the opening phase. They do not unlock blocked pathways and consume limited dock capacity.

Clearing Gatekeepers and Directional Arrows

Once the perimeter opens, the board transitions into directional bottlenecks where single transverse pieces trap multi-unit lines.

Before tapping a blocker piece:

  1. Count units behind the gatekeeper: Only release a lane if the matching hole currently accepts that color and can absorb the incoming units.
  2. Halt unmatching releases: If the target hole currently requires a different color, opening a trapped lane sends mismatched units directly into your holding dock.
  3. Prioritize horizontal lines over vertical drops: When directional arrows intersect, clear horizontal blockers first. Horizontal clearances expose broader sections of the grid, revealing upcoming colors and secondary lanes.

Holding Dock Thresholds

Managing buffer space determines whether you finish the stage without retries. Always maintain at least two empty slots to absorb unexpected lane movements.

Dock StatusRisk LevelAction Required
0–2 Slots FilledSafeOpen gatekeeper units and release multi-unit color columns.
3–4 Slots FilledModerateStop opening unverified lanes; tap only pieces that clear directly into goals.
5+ Slots FilledCriticalTap only units that match pieces already in your dock to free up space.

If your dock reaches five or more filled slots, do not attempt to clear blocked pathways. Scan the board exclusively for colors matching those currently occupying your dock. Clearing those matching pieces completes the set, empties the dock slots, and restores your buffer.

Endgame Clearing Sequence

Once the core cluster is split, finish the stage using this sequence:

  1. Empty the dock: Tap loose board units that match colors stored in your holding slots to regain full buffer capacity.
  2. Clear the center column: Tap the central vertical column to route the remaining secondary colors into their holes.
  3. Clear the corner pieces: Tap the isolated corner units bypassed in the opening phase, which now have open travel routes.
  4. Trigger the final color block: Tap the remaining single-color cluster to route all remaining units into the final goal.
