Diablo Immortal: How to Use Essence Transfer

Use Essence Transfer to keep a Legendary power you want while moving to gear with better attributes. Extract the power from a Legendary item, then apply that essence to your current gear through the Essence Transfer vendor.

Extract and apply a Legendary essence

1. Take a Legendary item with a power you want to keep to the Essence Transfer vendor and extract its essence.
2. When you get a better-stat item, use the vendor to apply the stored power to it.

This lets you change a Legendary power without keeping an older item solely for that power. The draft recommends extracting each unique Legendary power before salvaging the item so it is available in your essence library.
