To clear Starhunt mode in Dicero!!, fill every tile on your board before merging any dice, balance lane-clearing area damage with dedicated single-target burst, and save hero abilities until minion swarms are cleared away from elite star carriers.
Starhunt Mode Clear Conditions
Starhunt challenges players to defeat marked star-carrier enemies mixed into incoming waves. Defeating these units grants event stars to progress through reward tiers. Star carriers have higher health pools, damage resistance, and movement mechanics compared to standard enemies.
Failing to balance your board roles will end a run quickly:
- Over-indexing on single-target dice causes basic enemy swarms to overwhelm your lane defense.
- Relying entirely on area-of-effect (AoE) damage leaves star carriers alive long enough to breach the end of the track.
Core Dice Roles
A balanced Starhunt setup requires four functional dice archetypes to handle escalating waves and summoning costs.
| Dice Archetype | Primary Role in Starhunt | Tactical Advantage |
|---|---|---|
| Burst / Single-Target | Boss and star carrier elimination | Quickly burns down high-health marked targets before they exit lane range. |
| Area-of-Effect (AoE) | Minion swarm clearing | Strips basic fodder mobs so backline dice can strike star carriers directly. |
| Control / Stun / Slow | Lane pacing and crowd grouping | Clusters enemies and extends the firing window on fast-moving targets. |
| Economy / Growth | Board scaling and pip generation | Offsets escalating summoning costs and speeds up early tier promotions. |
Limit your loadout to a single utility or economy die. Carrying multiple non-damaging utility dice lowers your total field damage, making it difficult to keep pace with enemy health scaling.
Board Setup and Merge Order
Early wave failure usually comes from merging dice too early. Merging two one-pip dice into one two-pip die cuts your active firing units in half, weakening overall field output.
1. Fill the Grid First
Summon dice until all board tiles are occupied before executing your first merge. A full grid of low-pip units provides higher hit frequency and faster swarm clear than a handful of higher-tier dice. This full-board baseline handles early waves cleanly while generating currency to absorb rising summon costs.
2. Execute Controlled Merges
Once the grid is full, merge duplicate utility units and lower-impact dice while protecting your core damage dealers:
- Maintain at least two dedicated AoE dice on the field at all times to prevent trash mobs from swarming the lane.
- Never merge your primary single-target carry if the merge removes your only immediate burst damage source.
- Prioritize broad stat upgrades in the in-run menu when available, as flat stat increases boost every deployed die simultaneously.
Tackling Elite Star Targets
Star carriers feature distinct operational mechanics, such as damage-absorbing shields or movement auras that accelerate neighboring minions.
- Wait for the lane to thin: Hold your hero ultimate and targeted burst spells when a star carrier reaches lane midpoint. Firing abilities into a crowded lane wastes heavy burst on weak fodder.
- Expose the carrier: Let your AoE dice eliminate the escorting minion pack first.
- Focus fire: Once the star carrier is isolated, trigger hero abilities and focus high-pip single-target dice directly onto the target.
- Counter speed modifiers: If an upcoming wave features rapid sprint mechanics, upgrade your crowd-control dice in the field menu before the wave spawns to keep targets pinned inside your primary firing zone.
Late-Wave Resource Management
Summoning costs increase significantly in later waves. Indiscriminate rolling at this stage depletes reserves without guaranteeing useful upgrades, which can leave your board vulnerable.
- Only merge units when you hold enough surplus currency to summon an immediate replacement if the merge produces a support unit.
- When your board cleanly clears incoming waves, stop summoning and bank your currency to respond to emergency lane breaches rather than fishing for marginal upgrades.

Good guide for Dicero! players. The strategy part was useful.
Can you add more details about strategy in a future update?
This helped me understand strategy much better.
I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
