Nova (Banshee) is a Support Esper in Dislyte who counters resurrection-heavy defensive lineups through True Damage and anti-revive utility. To use her effectively, build her with high Speed and Accuracy, target the enemy's primary reviver early, and pair her with single-target damage dealers capable of securing eliminations while her revive prevention is active.

How Nova’s Kit Works

Nova combines offensive support utility with defense-ignoring output. Her core value relies on two distinct mechanics:

  • True Damage: Nova deals True Damage that bypasses enemy Defense values and damage-absorbing shields entirely. This lets her chip away at heavily armored tanks and shielded targets without requiring Defense Penetration or heavy critical stat investment.
  • Revive Prevention: When Nova applies her anti-revive effect to an enemy target, that unit cannot be resurrected if eliminated while the debuff remains active. This directly counters passive resurrection skills and support Espers that rely on reviving fallen allies to stall out matches.

Because her damage output is based on True Damage rather than massive burst scaling, Nova cannot replace a dedicated damage dealer. Her role is to soften durable targets and lock them out of the match permanently once eliminated.

Combat Sequencing and Target Priority

To prevent enemies from reviving, Nova must act before your primary burst attackers take their turns. Use the following turn sequence:

  1. Open with Speed or AP Support: Use an allied Action Point pusher to ensure Nova takes an early turn before opposing cleansers and carries move.
  2. Apply Revive Prevention: Target the enemy team’s primary resurrection anchor or an enemy carry with a passive self-revive mechanic.
  3. Burst the Marked Target: Coordinate your team's single-target damage dealers to finish off the afflicted target before the anti-revive window expires.
  4. Cycle Cooldowns: Use Nova's remaining turns to chip down tanks with True Damage while working back toward her primary utility cooldowns.

Do not deploy Nova as an anti-revive specialist against teams that lack resurrection mechanics. Against speed-cleave teams without revive tools, her anti-revive utility provides no value, leaving her purely as a secondary True Damage support.

Nova requires sufficient Speed to cycle her abilities and enough Accuracy to ensure her debuffs land through enemy Effect Resistance. Defensive main stats keep her alive long enough to manage multiple cycles.

Focus substat upgrades primarily on Speed, followed by Accuracy and HP%. Because True Damage does not scale with traditional critical stats, avoid prioritizing Crit Rate or Crit Damage on her gear.

Team Composition and Synergies

Nova relies on teammates to control the tempo of the fight and deliver the finishing blows on targets she marks.

  • Action Point Pushers: Espers like Unas and Dhalia push Nova's turn forward, allowing her to establish anti-revive status effects before opposing supports can cast protective immunity buffs.
  • Control Espers: Stun and freeze controllers prevent enemy cleansers from stripping Nova’s debuffs, ensuring the target remains vulnerable to permanent elimination.
  • Single-Target Burst Damage Dealers: High-impact executioners are necessary to take down marked targets within the anti-revive duration.

Avoid placing Nova on passive, sustain-only teams that lack burst damage. If your squad cannot eliminate the marked target before Nova's debuff wears off, the enemy team will be able to revive their units normally, nullifying her primary tactical advantage.
