To clear Survivor difficulty in under 15 minutes in Dome Keeper, start a Relic Hunt on a Small map using the standard Engineer and Laser Dome. Focus your resources strictly on vertical digging and mining speed, locate the main relic chamber deep underground, and drag the relic back to activate the win condition before escalating combat waves overwhelm your baseline defenses.

Required Run Setup

Setting the correct parameters ensures the map remains compact enough to locate and retrieve the relic before late-game wave scaling kicks in:

  • Game Mode: Relic Hunt. Unlike Prestige mode, Relic Hunt provides a definitive win condition as soon as the main relic is brought to the dome and triggered.
  • Difficulty: Survivor. This difficulty unlocks higher-tier progression rewards and achievements while remaining beatable on a tight timer.
  • Map Size: Small. Small maps reduce the depth of the bedrock layers, allowing you to reach the relic chamber in four to five wave cycles.
  • Loadout: Engineer and Laser Dome. This pairing offers reliable early defense and direct resource handling without relying on RNG unlocks.

Efficient Mining Route and Shaft Spacing

Do not strip-mine the upper biomes. To beat the 15-minute mark, your goal is to find iron rapidly to fund initial upgrades, then dig straight down:

  1. Dig a central vertical shaft: Mine directly down from beneath the dome entrance.
  2. Branch horizontally every two blocks: Leave two solid block rows between horizontal probe paths. This exposes all hidden tiles between the tunnels with minimum digging.
  3. Cut losses early: If a horizontal branch fails to reveal iron after three or four blocks, stop digging horizontally and resume your vertical descent.
  4. Avoid hard stone detours: Soft dirt breaks in a single hit, but cutting through dense stone without iron in sight consumes too much of the wave timer.
  5. Time your returns: Return to the surface as soon as you have enough iron for your target upgrade, aiming to enter the dome roughly 10 seconds before an incoming attack.

Upgrade Priority: What to Buy and What to Skip

Because the run finishes quickly, long-term defensive infrastructure and costly health investments drain iron away from essential excavation speed.

UpgradePriorityPurpose
Drill Tier 1ImmediateBreaks through layer-one and layer-two rock without stalling your descent. Buy this with your first four iron.
Movement Speed 1HighReduces transit time between the dome and deep tunnels.
Carry Capacity 1ModerateAllows hauling three to four resource chunks without suffering extreme drag.
Laser Speed / Power 1SituationalBuy only if ground swarms reach the dome before your baseline beam kills them.
Dome Health / RepairMinimal / SkipRely on base hull durability; spend cobalt only to avoid fatal hull failure.
GadgetsSituationalPick passive utility items like the Lift or Stunner only if they require no iron upgrade investment.

Locating and Extracting the Relic

The main relic chamber generates in the lower section of a Small map, encased in harder rock. Secondary gadget chambers can be bypassed entirely.

  • Locate the chamber: Watch for distinct wall masonry, colored wiring, and ambient audio cues as you dig through the lower biome.
  • Clear the room: Mine the blocks immediately surrounding the central mechanism so the relic can move freely.
  • Activate the switch: Interact with the chamber mechanism to unseat the relic.
  • Haul straight up: Tow the relic up through your primary central shaft. Do not stop to mine cobalt or water veins during the extraction run.

Combat Priority During the Final Push

When defending the dome during the final cycles, eliminate flying spitters and explosive aerial targets first using the Laser Dome's directional beam. Melee units moving along the ground can be allowed to strike the hull once or twice while you burn down high-damage ranged threats.

Once the relic enters the dome, interact with the main pedestal immediately. Triggering the device unleashes a pulse that eliminates all active hostiles and ends the run, securing your sub-15-minute Survivor victory.
