In DRAGON BALL LEGENDS, never upgrade a fragment that drops with a green first slot. Slot 1 stats are permanently locked when the fragment drops and cannot be rerolled using Slot Removers. Investing Zeni and Rising Souls into a green first slot permanently caps the equipment's stat potential and prevents it from reaching top ranks like Z, Z+, or Godly.

Sell green-slotted drops immediately. Only keep fragments that drop at C-rank with a gold or red first slot, as these are the only pieces capable of reaching peak stat ceilings.

Why Green First Slots Waste Resources

Every fragment in DRAGON BALL LEGENDS has three stat slots. Slot 2 and Slot 3 can be cleared and rerolled repeatedly with Slot Removers, but Slot 1 is entirely static.

Starting with a low Slot 1 roll produces several permanent disadvantages:

  • Capped Final Stats: A green Slot 1 severely lowers baseline combat boosts such as Base Strike Attack, Blast Defense, or Health Restoration.
  • Low Rank Ceiling: Even if Slot 2 and Slot 3 roll high values, a weak Slot 1 base prevents the fragment from achieving Godly or Z+ ranks.
  • Wasted Materials: Upgrading a D-rank or E-rank base consumes millions of Zeni and large soul reserves for stats that cannot compete in high-level PvP.

How to Filter and Discard Equipment Drops

Establish a strict farm-and-filter routine whenever clearing Equipment Collection or event stages to protect your inventory capacity and currency.

  1. Batch Farm Stages: Spend Energy and Skip Tickets in batches of 30 to 50 runs on your targeted Equipment Collection stage.
  2. Sort by Newest: Open the Equipment Menu and filter by newly acquired fragments.
  3. Inspect Slot 1 Color: Look at the color dot on the first slot of each new piece.
  4. Lock Gold and Red Drops: Immediately lock any C-rank fragment showing a gold or red first slot to prevent accidental sales.
  5. Bulk Sell Green Drops: Select all unlocked duplicates with green first slots and sell them to reclaim Zeni and bag space.

Managing Slot Removers and Upgrades

Slot Removers (often called erasers) reset either Slot 2 or Slot 3 to an unupgraded state so you can roll for higher numbers. Because high rolls have low base odds, preserve your erasers carefully.

  • Upgrade Slots 2 and 3 Normally First: Use Zeni and souls to reveal both slots on your locked gold or red bases before touching your erasers.
  • Save Erasers for Upgrade Bonanzas: Fragment Upgrade Bonanza campaigns improve upgrade odds. Burning hundreds of Slot Removers outside these events burns resources for lower returns.
  • Avoid Early Secure Upgrades: Beginners should use regular batch rerolls rather than the Secure Upgrade feature, which consumes large quantities of erasers and Chrono Crystals for small guaranteed increases.

Matching Fragment Restrictions to Unit Kits

Before investing heavily into an upgraded fragment, confirm that its requirements match your character and team setup:

  • Tag Restrictions: Check the conditions listed on the fragment. Some pieces require broad tags like "Saiyan" or "Element: YEL," while others require specific categories like "Fusion Warrior" or "Sagas From the Movies."
  • Battle Style Alignment: Check whether your fighter is Strike-focused or Blast-focused. Equipping pure Blast Attack equipment onto a dedicated Strike attacker reduces offensive potential compared to matching the stat buff directly to the unit's primary damage cards.
