To run the 9-Ultimate team in DRAGON BALL LEGENDS, deploy Legends Limited (LF) Ultimate Gohan, LF Omega Shenron, and LF Broly as your core battle members. Each of these three fighters can generate up to three Ultimate Arts cards during a match—one through their Main Ability and two via their Unique Gauge—giving your lineup a maximum pool of nine ultimate attacks.

Core Fighters and Ultimate Generation

Standard Legends Limited fighters typically draw only one Ultimate Arts card when activating their Main Ability. This setup breaks that limitation by combining three units capable of reloading ultimates through gauge mechanics.

FighterElementTagsUltimate Arts Triggers
LF Ultimate GohanREDSon Family, Hybrid Saiyans1 from Main Ability, 2 from Unique Gauge
LF Omega ShenronYELGT, Regeneration, Powerful Opponent1 from Main Ability, 2 from Unique Gauge
LF BrolyPURSagas from the Movies, Powerful Opponent1 from Main Ability, 2 from Unique Gauge

Each unit generates an additional Ultimate Arts card upon filling their Unique Gauge, up to two times per match. Because Ultimate Arts cards pierce damage cuts and blast armor, having nine available allows you to spend them early to force switches or break defensive covers instead of saving a single card for an endgame finisher.

Leader Slot Setup and Bench Synergy

Running these three units together creates an initial tag conflict: Gohan buffs Son Family and Hybrid Saiyans, Omega Shenron supports GT and Regeneration, and Broly targets Sagas from the Movies and Powerful Opponent.

To resolve this conflict, place LF Ultimate Gohan in the Leader Slot.

  • Leader Slot Mechanic: Assigning Gohan as the Leader grants him the full benefit of bench Z-Abilities even if he lacks their tags, while simultaneously distributing his own Z-Ability across the rest of the team.
  • Shared Bench Synergy: Because Omega Shenron and Broly both carry the Powerful Opponent tag, your bench can focus entirely on Powerful Opponent stat support without leaving either unit unbuffed.

Equip bench members that provide high base offensive and defensive stats rather than specialized tag utility:

  • Powerful Opponent Buffers: Units like Zenkai LF Corrupted Merged Zamasu or Zenkai PUR Broly provide dual base attack and defense enhancements to both Broly and Omega Shenron while feeding Gohan through the Leader Slot.
  • Health Buffers: Run a dedicated base health Z-Ability buffer (such as a Powerful Opponent or Saiyan HP buffer) to raise overall survivability against early Rising Rush attempts.
  • Targeted Zenkai Buffs: Allocate a Zenkai stat booster to your primary carry. Zenkai RED Super Gogeta or Great Saiyaman 1 & 2 can strengthen LF Ultimate Gohan, while a relevant PUR Zenkai bench unit bolsters LF Broly.

Gauge Management and Hand Discipline

Generating multiple high-cost cards can stall your momentum if you do not manage your card slots and ki carefully.

  • Prevent Overwrites: A full hand will waste an ultimate drawn from a capped Unique Gauge. Monitor gauge progress closely and clear cards before the meter tops off. Never activate a Main Ability while holding an ultimate generated by a gauge.
  • Exploit Animation Timers: Ultimate Arts carry extended attack animations that pause active combat while substitution timers continue counting down. Trigger an ultimate when your bench allies need additional counts to refresh their substitution timers or reset their Vanish Gauges.
  • Mind Rising Rush Production: Ultimate Arts cards do not carry Dragon Balls. Relying heavily on ultimates reduces the rate at which you draw Dragon Balls, making your Rising Rush progression noticeably slower than builds cycling basic Strike and Blast cards.
  • Play Around Ki Disruption: Opponents with switch-in ki reduction or card lock effects can strand expensive ultimate cards in your hand. Ensure you have the ki necessary to execute an ultimate before committing in neutral.

Battle Rotation Order

  1. Lead with LF Broly or LF Omega Shenron: Absorb early neutral interactions with Broly or Omega. Both fighters charge their Unique Gauges steadily through exchanges, securing your first gauge ultimate early.
  2. Deploy Early Ultimates: Use initial ultimate draws during the first few combos to burn the opponent's defensive swaps and health restoration.
  3. Finish with LF Ultimate Gohan: Hold Gohan for late-game sequences where his endurance nullification and burst damage can close out weakened opposing units.
