To win Arena Duel matches in Eternal Sword Pact, disable full-auto combat, bait out the opponent's primary gap closer at the start of the round, and chain your crowd control directly into your highest-damage burst skills. Default auto-battle scripts waste offensive cooldowns into enemy defensive shields and follow predictable paths that leave your character vulnerable to stuns.
Configure Targeting and Match Selection
Before queuing for a duel, open your combat settings and switch targeting from full-auto to semi-auto or manual input. Semi-auto targeting keeps your offensive abilities pointed toward the rival hero while restoring manual control over dashes, dodges, and repositioning.
When choosing an opponent from the matchmaking list, look beyond total combat power and evaluate class kits:
- Burst dynamic: Note whether the opponent relies on immediate front-loaded burst or sustained damage over time.
- Defensive telegraphs: Target opponents whose shields or invulnerability windows have obvious wind-up animations that you can react to.
- Mobility tools: Choose targets with fewer gap closers if your class relies on mid-range spacing and kiting.
Arena Positioning and Movement
Do not activate your primary mobility dash immediately when the match starts. Instead, circle outward along the arena perimeter at medium range. Most automated or aggressive opponents immediately burn their primary approach skill in a straight line. Stepping laterally around this charge forces the enemy to whiff their opener and leaves their primary mobility tool on cooldown.
Use the ring boundaries to limit enemy escapes:
- Wall trapping: Drive the opponent toward the outer ring barrier. Backing an enemy against the boundary cuts their backward dodge range, making follow-up area-of-effect spells difficult to escape.
- Center control: Keep your own character positioned toward the center of the ring to preserve multiple directional escape routes when pressured.
Skill Sequencing and Burst Windows
Randomly firing abilities off cooldown allows passive healing and defensive barriers to absorb your output. Wait until an opponent commits an unsafe action, apply hard crowd control, and deliver your damage rotation before they can recover.
| Combat Phase | Skill Action | Tactical Objective |
|---|---|---|
| Opener | Feint or medium-range poke | Baits out enemy defensive shields or dashes without spending key burst skills. |
| Control | Hard stun or knockdown | Immobilizes the target to prevent defensive dodging and barrier activation. |
| Burst | Primary damage sequence | Channels heavy damage modifiers while enemy defensive buffs remain offline. |
| Disengage | Backward dash or lateral kiting | Creates distance to reset positioning while major cooldowns reload. |
Once your primary damage rotation ends, disengage immediately. Trading basic attacks at point-blank range while waiting for cooldowns exposes your character to counter-bursts.
Managing Crowd Control and Punishing Whiffs
Surviving higher-tier arena fights depends on how you allocate your crowd control recovery skill:
- Ignore minor effects: Do not trigger your CC recovery skill on minor slows or chip-damage interrupts.
- Break full incapacitations: Save the recovery break exclusively for hard stuns, knockups, and telegraphed ultimate skills.
- Counter-dash: Use the brief invulnerability or super armor window granted by the recovery skill to dash through or behind the enemy rather than retreating.
- Punish recovery frames: When an opponent misses a high-commitment burst attack, attack immediately to exploit their active animation frames while their defenses are down.
If you hit a progression wall on the ladder, inspect your post-match logs. Reallocate secondary gear stats and skill runes toward crowd control resistance, critical defense, and burst penetration to counter the defensive profiles you encounter most frequently.

Good guide for Eternal Sword Pact players. The strategy part was useful.
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
This helped me understand strategy much better.
The explanation is clear, especially for beginners.
