To survive against aggressive enemy swarms in Flick Shot Rogues, use weapon recoil as a defensive movement tool. Firing directly at approaching enemies knocks your character backward, allowing you to deal damage while establishing distance without relying entirely on standard movement inputs.
Aiming with Recoil Trajectories
Every shot propels your character in the opposite direction of your launch vector. To avoid taking chip damage or launching yourself into danger, plan where your recoil will land before taking a shot.
- Clear Pathing: When cornered, fire directly into the encroaching line of enemies so the pushback launches your character into open space.
- Crowd Spacing: Shoot into the center of enemy clusters. The hit knocks enemies back while recoil pushes you away, creating double the defensive buffer.
- Low-Health Repositioning: Avoid aggressive shots into tight groups when health is low. Fire a single shot to recoil behind cover, evaluate the room layout, and repeat the hit-and-run pattern.
Target Priority and Room Layouts
Adapt your recoil direction to the enemies present and the physical space of each room:
- Fast and Ranged Threats: Target high-priority enemies with fast movement or ranged attacks first. Use recoil to kite them in a wide circle along the edge of your effective range.
- Narrow Corridors: Align your shots parallel to the hallway length. Firing across a narrow corridor causes your recoil to knock you into walls, negating your movement and leaving you vulnerable to melee hits.
- Open Arenas: Use recoil to propel your character across wide rooms. Bait pursuing enemies into walking through room traps and environmental hazards while keeping yourself at a distance.
