To optimize progression in Forge of Empires, construct The Arc as early as possible and rush it to Level 80. Level 80 raises the building's Contribution Boost to 90%, allowing you to participate in community 1.9 reward threads, multiply your Forge Point income, fund endless medal expansions, and supply your guild treasury with daily goods.

Arc Overview and Base Requirements

The Arc is a Future Era Great Building that requires a 7x5 footprint and a two-lane road connection. You can build it in any age once you obtain all nine blueprint pieces and the required Future Era goods.

Secondary BonusContribution Boost (percentage multiplier on Great Building rewards)

Goods Required to Construct

Constructing the foundation requires 1,875 total Future Era goods across five types:

  • Bioplastics: 350
  • Purified Water: 375
  • Algae: 300
  • Nanomaterials: 400
  • Semiconductor: 450

How to Acquire Blueprints and Goods Early

Players routinely construct The Arc during the Iron Age or Early Middle Ages without waiting to research the Future Era on the campaign map.

1. Sourcing Blueprints

  • Target Positions 4 and 5: Scan high-level Arcs in your guild, friends list, and neighborhood. Positions 4 and 5 require fewer Forge Points to lock while guaranteeing blueprint rewards.
  • Aid Daily: Polish or motivate Future Era buildings in your friends list for occasional passive blueprint drops.

2. Sourcing Future Era Goods

  • Find a Goods Seller: Join an active guild with endgame players or locate a designated goods vendor in global chat.
  • Trade Down: Vendors trade the 1,875 Future Era goods to you via uneven market trades (offering high-era goods for your low-era goods) in exchange for you placing an agreed number of Forge Points onto their Great Buildings.

The Level 80 Milestone and 1.9 Threads

At Level 80, the Contribution Boost reaches exactly 90%. This turns your reward return into a 1.9 multiplier on any base Great Building reward.

Total Reward = Base Reward + (Base Reward × 0.90) = Base Reward × 1.9

This 90% threshold powers community "1.9 leveling threads":

  • For the Investor: An investor with a Level 80 Arc donates 1.9 times the default reward onto your Great Building. When the building levels, the game pays them back their entire investment via the 90% boost, yielding free blueprints and medals at zero net Forge Point loss.
  • For the Owner: Because other players fund the top spots at full 1.9 value, you only need to pay the remaining difference to level your building, cutting personal Forge Point costs by more than half.

Leveling Phases from 1 to 80

The path to Level 80 splits into three distinct stages based on owner cost and reward scaling.

PhaseLevel RangeInvestment ProfileRecommended Approach
The CrawlLevels 1–29High owner cost, low base rewardsFund levels with daily Forge Points, swap chains, or guild partners.
The Sweet SpotLevels 30–74Low owner cost, high base rewardsLock positions 1 and 2, then list immediately in 1.9 guild threads.
The Final PushLevels 75–80Moderate owner costPre-fund the gap carefully to reach the 90% cap safely.

Between Levels 30 and 74, reward payouts grow faster than the total Forge Points required to complete the level. At peak efficiency (around Levels 55–65), 1.9 investors cover almost the entire level. You often need to invest fewer than 100 Forge Points of your own to secure the top spots. Ensure you accumulate enough complete blueprint sets in advance so you can unlock levels without stalling.

Protecting Your Arc from Snipers

Neighborhood snipers look for unsecured Great Buildings to deposit Forge Points below the 1.9 rate, stealing reward spots and forcing you to pay extra points to finish the level. Follow these rules to protect your Arc:

  1. Keep Next Levels Locked: Do not unlock the next level until you have the Forge Points in your inventory or daily production ready to lock the top spots immediately.
  2. Calculate the Lock Threshold: Never post a spot in a 1.9 thread until you have deposited enough points to make that spot mathematically impossible for anyone else to overtake.

To find the minimum points you must deposit before listing a spot, use the locking formula:

$$\text{Owner Points Required} = \text{Total Level Cost} - (2 \times \text{Contributor Spot Value})$$

Once your required points are deposited, post the position in your guild 1.9 thread so verified contributors take the spot safely.
