Cooperative 1.9 contribution threads remain fully functional in Forge of Empires. Revisions to the Great Building update preserve standard base Forge Point (FP) payouts for reward places 1 through 5, allowing a level 80 Arc's 90% contribution boost to break even on deposits.

Because base reward scaling remains unchanged, players do not need to alter standard 1.9 donation rates. However, building owners must continue calculating self-funding thresholds accurately before posting spots to prevent neighborhood snipers from stealing rewards.

How 1.9 Arc Math Works

A level 80 Arc provides a 90% reward bonus to the contributor on places 1 through 5 of another player's Great Building. This bonus multiplies the default reward displayed on the building by 1.9.

Standard 1.9 Contribution Math:
Base Reward × 1.9 = Required Forge Point Deposit
Example: 100 FP Base Reward × 1.9 = 190 FP Deposit
Contributor Payout: 100 Base FPs + 90 Arc Bonus FPs = 190 FPs Returned

Because the contributor recovers 100% of their invested Forge Points upon level completion, their net cost is zero. In return, the contributor receives the building's reward Blueprints and Medals without spending their own Forge Point balance.

Great Building Contribution Reward Changes

Early concerns regarding the Great Building rework centered on potential cuts to baseline contribution rewards or shifting payouts entirely to city Prestige. Preserving base Forge Point payouts prevents cooperative leveling systems from collapsing into slower swap chains or forced self-funding.

Maintaining base rewards is especially vital between levels 30 and 70, often called the "sweet spot." Across these levels, 1.9 investors cover the majority of the level cost, minimizing the owner's out-of-pocket investment.

How to Calculate Priming and Lock Spots

A Great Building spot is "primed" only when the owner has contributed enough Forge Points that an outside player can deposit the 1.9 amount and become mathematically impossible to overtake. Calling an unprimed spot in guild chat leaves it vulnerable to snipers.

Calculate your priming requirement with this sequence:

  1. Check the total Forge Points required to complete the target level.
  2. Note the remaining Forge Points needed to finish the level.
  3. Multiply the base reward of the target spot by 1.9 to find the required deposit.
  4. Multiply that 1.9 deposit value by 2.
  5. Subtract that doubled value from the total remaining Forge Points on the building.
  6. Deposit the resulting difference into the building before posting the call.

Once the owner deposits this exact priming amount, the outside investor's deposit leaves fewer remaining Forge Points on the building than any competitor would need to tie or beat that rank.

Protecting Great Buildings from Neighborhood Snipers

Snipers scan neighborhood lists for Great Buildings where top spots are partially filled or unprimed. A sniper deposits fewer Forge Points than the 1.9 rate, locking the rank below guild payout standards while taking the Blueprints and Medals for themselves.

To defend against snipers:

  • Prime spots in descending order: Always secure and call Place 1 (P1) and Place 2 (P2) before unlocking P3 through P5. Calling lower spots first lowers the barrier for snipers to claim top spots cheaply.
  • Disconnect road connections: If you need time to collect Forge Points to prime a vulnerable level, temporarily remove the road touching the Great Building. Neighbors cannot contribute to a building that lacks a road connection.
  • Check neighborhood rotations: Neighborhood bars rotate every two weeks. When a new group of active players enters your neighborhood, review your Great Buildings to ensure no incomplete levels are exposed.

Next Progression Actions

With 1.9 threads confirmed to work under standard rules, your progression priorities remain centered on The Arc:

  • If your Arc is below level 80: Direct your daily Forge Point income toward leveling it to 80. Utilize guild 1.9 threads to secure your own sweet spot (levels 30 through 60) with minimal self-funding.
  • If your Arc is level 80 or higher: Actively take 1.9 calls in guild and cross-guild threads to stockpile the Medals needed for victory expansions and the Blueprints required to raise level caps on your other Great Buildings.
