Capturing major seats such as King's Landing and Winterfell in Game of Thrones: Dragonfire requires full alliance coordination rather than individual power. To successfully take and retain a capital seat, your alliance must establish a connected territorial path to the objective, schedule synchronized rallies led by your strongest members, deploy high-tier compositions, and immediately reinforce the seat post-breach.

Territory Pathing and Power Check

Before launching an attack, your alliance must address two logistical prerequisites:

  1. Establish Territory Connection: Your alliance's borders must physically link to the target seat before the event window opens. Scout neighboring map tiles to clear rival buffer zones and guarantee an uninterrupted line for troop marches and rallies.
  2. Evaluate Alliance Power: Compare your alliance's combined power against the garrison strength of the target seat. If your forces are significantly underpowered, target smaller regional seats first to gain experience and build up army rosters without suffering catastrophic troop losses.

Rally Coordination and Troop Formations

Single-player marches cannot break heavily fortified seats. Success depends on organized rally parameters and strict troop tier management.

  • Designate a Rally Lead: Assign the player with the highest combat stats or best-optimized formations to host the main rally to boost total offensive capability.
  • Set Short Rally Timers: Use short rally timers to minimize the window defenders have to shift troops or call in reinforcements.
  • Stagger Rally Waves: Launch multiple alliance rallies timed to strike in rapid succession. Continuous impact prevents defensive garrisons from recovering between attacks.
  • Filter March Tiers: March with high-tier units and your strongest dragons. Lead formations with high-health infantry to absorb incoming damage, followed by high-damage ranged troops to deal backline damage. Do not send low-tier filler units, as quick low-tier deaths elevate defender combat stats.

Post-Capture Defensive Shifts

Breaking the target wall transfers control, but retaining the seat requires immediate defensive conversion against counter-attacks from rival alliances.

  • Instant Reinforcements: Transition alliance members to a defensive posture the moment the wall breaks by sending garrison support straight into the seat.
  • Troop Rotation: Coordinate troop swaps in alliance chat. When stationed troops sustain severe damage, recall them to their home base while fresh alliance units reinforce the seat.
