In Gossip Harbor®: Merge & Story, the most efficient way to use a Joker Card is to target an unowned 5-star card that completes an individual card set during the final 48 to 72 hours of an active seasonal album. Holding your Joker Cards until the end of the event prevents duplicate waste from standard card packs, while finishing near-complete sets guarantees immediate payouts of energy, coins, and gems.

How Joker Cards Function

A Joker Card acts as a universal wild card for active seasonal card albums. When acquired from high-tier milestones, seasonal passes, or limited-time events, selecting the card opens your album interface and allows you to select any unowned slot.

Activating a Joker Card applies the following mechanics:

  • Permanent slot fulfillment: The selected card is added immediately to your collection, and the Joker Card is consumed.
  • Instant set completion: If the selected card fills the final open slot in an individual set, that set completes instantly, delivering its listed rewards.
  • Album grand prize trigger: If the card fills the last remaining gap across the entire album, it triggers the seasonal grand prize of bonus gems, chests, and thousands of energy points.
  • Universal rarity coverage: The card can substitute for any rarity tier, from 1-star common cards to rare 5-star items.

When to Spend Joker Cards

Hold all acquired Joker Cards until the final 48 to 72 hours of the seasonal card event.

Throughout the event window, standard gameplay—such as fulfilling customer orders, opening milestone reward boxes, and completing mini-event tracks—regularly rewards green, blue, and gold card packs. Every standard pack opened has a chance to award new cards naturally. If you spend a Joker Card early in the season, subsequent card packs can roll that exact card as a duplicate. Duplicate cards convert only into basic star trade-in credit, which forfeits the unique value of a universal wild pick.

The only exception to holding your Joker Card is an immediate resource bottleneck. If completing a specific set grants the exact energy or gem total required to win a high-stakes, time-limited side event before it expires, early activation is justifiable. Otherwise, keep the card reserved for final collection cleanup.

Seasonal Expiration Warning

Joker Cards do not roll over to future seasons or subsequent card events. Review your missing album slots 12 to 24 hours before the event timer expires, and spend every remaining Joker Card to lock in rewards before the season closes.

Card Rarity Selection Priority

Because Joker Cards can duplicate any rarity without restriction, using them on low-rarity cards wastes their potential. Always prioritize high-rarity bottlenecks in sets that need only one card to finish.

Card RaritySource AvailabilityDuplicate RiskPriority Recommendation
5-StarVery low; locked behind top event milestone packsLowPrimary: Target the final missing card in high-payout sets.
4-StarModerate; found in gold and purple milestone packsModerateSecondary: Use only if no 5-star cards remain to complete a set.
1-Star to 3-StarHigh; awarded frequently in daily order packsHighAvoid: Never spend a Joker Card on these common drops.

If you have multiple missing 5-star cards that would each complete a different set, compare the set rewards. Select the set offering the highest yield of energy and gems to support your active board tasks.

Critical Usage Rules

To avoid wasting your Joker Cards, follow these constraints:

  1. Never spend a Joker Card on a set missing multiple cards: Using a wild card on a set missing two or three cards gives zero immediate payout. You receive no energy, gems, or progress toward the album reward until all remaining cards in that set are obtained.
  2. Coordinate completions with active side events: Completing an album set typically pays out 300 to 1,000 Energy. Trigger your Joker Card when an energy-spending competition, board tournament, or token-collection event is active so that spending your reward energy immediately earns tournament points.
