NPCs respond directly to player positioning, drawn weapons, and ownership boundaries. Staying aware of how guards and local residents react prevents unneeded combat in camps.

• Sheathe weapons before approaching: Walk up to camp gatekeepers and citizens with your weapons put away. Approaching with a drawn weapon signals hostile intent and prompts immediate guard aggression.
• Respond to verbal warnings: If you step into a private dwelling or touch an owned item, nearby NPCs issue a verbal warning before attacking. Immediately step back or sheath your weapon to de-escalate their disposition.
• Exhaust dialogue options with guards: When stopped at a camp entrance, speak with the guard fully. Paying a small bribe or offering required information often satisfies their entry requirements and avoids area lockouts.
