To defeat Auto Baron, the final story boss of Byron in Granado Espada M, with minimum gear requirements, disable auto-battle and manually position your squad. Clearing this encounter at baseline stats requires turning the boss away from your team with a dedicated tank, placing your support and ranged attacker in a spread-out triangle formation, and manually dodging lethal telegraphs.

At minimum stat thresholds, bringing two damage dealers leaves your squad vulnerable to standard cleaves and basic attacks. Run a balanced setup containing one dedicated tank, one sustained healer, and one ranged damage dealer. Ranged carries perform better than melee carries in minimum-spec clears because they stay outside close-range cleaves, reducing squad movement micro-management.

Squad RoleKey Stat PrioritiesPrimary Function Against Auto Baron
Main TankPhysical Defense, Max HP, Block RateFaces boss away from squad; absorbs normal attacks
Support / HealerHealing Power, Cooldown ReductionSustains tank through auto-attacks; buffers spike damage
Ranged DPSATK, Penetration, Critical RateDeals continuous damage outside close-range cleave zones

Before starting the encounter, apply standard consumable buffs, including food, attack potions, and defensive elixirs, to offset stat deficits.

Boss Facing and Formation Setup

Auto Baron relies on wide frontal cleaves that can eliminate fragile support and damage units in one or two hits. Managing the boss's facing direction is the primary requirement for survival.

  1. Turn the boss immediately: At the start of the battle, select your tank and run straight past Auto Baron so the boss turns its back to the rest of the squad.
  2. Form a wide triangle: Switch to individual character control and separate your healer and ranged DPS behind the boss. Keep them spread out from each other so secondary attacks cannot strike both backline units at once.
  3. Anchor against an arena boundary: Hold your tank against an outer boundary when possible to prevent Auto Baron from rotating or drifting into your backline during attacks.
  4. Respond to aggro loss: If high burst damage draws the boss toward your ranged carry, use your tank's taunt or disruption skills immediately while stepping the targeted unit away from melee range.

Dodging Red Zone Skill Telegraphs

Auto Baron's telegraphed skills can eliminate under-geared characters instantly. Watch ground markers and wind-up animations rather than skill cooldown timers.

  • Linear Charges: When Auto Baron targets a squad member with a red charge line, check which unit is marked. If it targets the tank, verify that the charge path points away from the backline. If it targets your healer or ranged DPS, run that character sideways across the trajectory rather than straight backward to escape the hitbox before the rush lands.
  • Ground Slam Shockwaves: Following a charge phase, Auto Baron frequently channels a delayed circular ground slam. Minimum-spec tanks cannot absorb this hit safely through defense alone. Step your tank outside the red circle during the wind-up, wait for the attack to impact empty ground, and immediately step back into melee range before the boss turns toward your backline.
  • Full-Squad Telegraphs: When broad AoE indicators cover multiple squad members, switch to full-squad movement control, command all characters to run to an open safe zone, and resume individual positioning once the attack resolves.

Skill Windows and Healing Flow

At minimum stat levels, avoid casting high-cooldown burst skills while Auto Baron is charging an ability or shifting positions, as movement cancels will waste damage uptime.

  • DPS Windows: Reserve high-damage burst abilities for the recovery frames immediately following a resolved boss skill. Apply armor shred and offensive debuffs as soon as Auto Baron completes a slam or charge, giving your ranged DPS an uninterrupted window to deal damage.
  • Healer Rhythm: Basic attacks inflict steady, abrasive damage on budget tanks. Avoid casting all defensive cooldowns at once. Alternate shield barriers and restoration skills so your tank receives protective mitigation before heavy hits and steady healing over time between boss mechanics.
