Use a Mythic Pet Selection Box in Granado Espada M to claim an unowned Mythic Pet that completes a missing Pet Codex entry rather than taking a duplicate copy. Every newly unlocked pet registers in your Pet Codex immediately and contributes to permanent, account-wide family stat bonuses across all squads and game modes, whereas duplicates only serve as synthesis, transcendence, or awakening fodder with a high failure risk.
If your active companion slot still relies on a Legendary or Epic pet, pick an unowned Mythic Pet that can also serve as your primary deployed companion. Once you have a permanent Mythic Pet deployed, dedicate all remaining selection boxes to finishing incomplete codex sets.
How to Choose Your Mythic Pet
Check your roster and the selection box pool in this order before redeeming the item:
- Filter your pet inventory by grade: Identify which Mythic Pets are still grayed out or unowned. Unless you already own every pet in the box, ignore duplicates.
- Assess your active deployment slot: Deployed Mythic Pets provide field bonuses while summoned, including loot gathering speed, auto-potion thresholds, bonus EXP and drop rate modifiers, and combat aura passives such as flat percentage squad Attack Power boosts or damage reduction. If you do not yet have a primary Mythic companion deployed, prioritize an unowned Mythic Pet with a universal combat aura so it upgrades your active slot and fills a codex spot at the same time.
- Check Pet Codex completion progress: Open the Pet Codex (Pet Book) and find multi-pet sets that are one entry away from completion, such as 2/3 or 3/4 registered pets. A pet that finishes an active stat set immediately gives more value than one that places the first entry into an empty set.
- Compare the completed set bonuses: When multiple unowned pets would finish a codex set, prioritize the stat type that resolves your current combat bottleneck.
- Check summon and synthesis availability: Review the box contents for recent, seasonal, or limited-distribution Mythic Pets. If a pet in the box is excluded from general summon pools or standard synthesis rotations, claim it before choosing a standard pet you can obtain later through normal summons or synthesis.
Pet Codex Stat Priority
Not all multi-pet collection bonuses offer the same return for account progression. When choosing between two codex completions, weigh their stat types using the priorities below:
| Collection Stat Focus | Priority | Account Impact |
|---|---|---|
| Penetration & ATK Increase | Top | Increases damage against high-defense raid bosses and endgame PvE field mobs. |
| Critical Hit & Extra Damage | High | Boosts sustained DPS for primary damage dealers in multi-target farming squads. |
| All-Element Resistance & DEF | Medium | Improves frontline survivability in extended guild content, Colony War, and elite dungeons. |
| Max HP & Recovery Stats | Situational | Helps stabilize fragile support units, but is secondary to offensive clear speed. |

I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
This helped me understand redeem codes much better.
Nice guide. I am checking the other Granado Espada M articles next.
This guide answered the exact question I had.
