To complete the Romina Main Quest in Granado Espada M, replace melee characters with a full ranged squad consisting of Cannon Shooter (CC), Jaina, and BFC. Romina deals heavy close-range burst and frontal area-of-effect (AoE) damage that rapidly overwhelms frontline melee fighters. Keeping your team at a distance neutralizes her primary damage zone and lets you manage the encounter through ranged kiting and area control.

Using characters that fight at point-blank range is the main cause of failure in this quest, as Romina's sweeping attacks quickly deplete melee health bars and overwhelm recovery items. A ranged lineup allows your trio to deal continuous damage while staying out of her attack arc.

CharacterRole in EncounterKey Responsibility
Cannon Shooter (CC)Artillery / AoE BurstClears initial escort minions with splash skills and staggers Romina from long range.
JainaPrimary Ranged DPSProvides sustained single-target burst and control to burn down the boss.
BFCTactical Ranged SupportSupplies continuous secondary fire and long-range suppressive damage.

Combat Strategy and Target Priority

Relying on automated combat during this fight often leads to party wipes, as auto-pathing can steer ranged characters directly into Romina's cleave radius. Switch to manual or semi-manual controls and follow this sequence:

  1. Eliminate the escort minions first: Do not focus Romina right away. Use Cannon Shooter’s high-impact splash skills to eliminate the minor escort units as soon as the fight begins. Leaving them alive allows them to chip away at your attackers while Romina closes the distance.
  2. Spread out in a triangle: Position your three characters in a loose triangle around the arena rather than grouping them in one spot. This forces Romina to pursue only one target at a time, allowing the other two to fire without disruption.
  3. Stagger crowd-control skills: Space out Jaina’s control skills and Cannon Shooter’s heavy artillery strikes rather than activating them all at once, keeping Romina disrupted for longer intervals.
  4. Kite when abilities are on cooldown: If Romina targets your active character, run in wide arcs around the edge of the arena while your major skills recharge. Romina will spend time pursuing you while Jaina and BFC continue landing standard attacks.

Pre-Battle Preparation

Before triggering the quest instance, ensure your squad meets these basic survival and damage baselines:

  • Offense: Prioritize weapon enhancements and physical attack stats on Cannon Shooter and Jaina to ensure you defeat Romina before running out of supplies.
  • Defense: Equip armor with flat physical defense to cushion against stray attacks.
  • Potions: Stock high-tier health potions across all three characters and set your auto-potion threshold to trigger early, between 60% and 70% health, to prevent burst-damage deaths.
