To pilot the Mega-Windfury N'Zoth Shaman archetype in Hearthstone, spend early turns establishing Deathrattle minions in your graveyard, tutor N'Zoth, the Corruptor using Taelan Fordring, and buff N'Zoth with Turbulus to clear opposing boards across four consecutive minion attacks.

Because N'Zoth costs 10 mana and Turbulus costs 4 mana, the primary synergy occurs after N'Zoth survives a turn on the board. The deck relies on building a dense wall of resurrected Taunt Deathrattles on turn 10 to protect N'Zoth so it can act on turn 11.

Core Card Synergies

The deck transitions from a defensive stall game into an offensive board wipe by combining a targeted tutor, a board-wide resurrection, and multi-attack buffing.

Turbulus4MinionGrants Mega-Windfury to allow four attacks against enemy minions
N'Zoth, the Corruptor10MinionResurrects friendly Deathrattle minions that died earlier in the match

Turbulus is a 4-mana 3/4 Elemental whose Battlecry grants a friendly minion Mega-Windfury. However, the buff carries an immediate restriction: the targeted minion cannot attack the enemy hero during the turn the buff is applied.

Targeting N'Zoth with Turbulus converts N'Zoth's 5/7 body into 20 total damage spread across four separate strikes against opposing minions. This lets N'Zoth punch through multiple Taunt units and high-health targets without forcing your freshly resurrected Deathrattle minions to trade.

Early-Game Curve and Deathrattle Sequencing

N'Zoth only resurrects minions that have already died during the match. Floating mana or holding Deathrattles in hand weakens your late-game board presence. Focus turns 1 through 4 on establishing sticky units that trade efficiently and enter the graveyard early.

  • Develop Deathrattles ahead of reactive spells: Unless an enemy minion threatens lethal damage, prioritize summoning Deathrattle minions over casting reactive removal. Feeding your death pool is the primary win condition.
  • Anchor your defenses with Taunt Deathrattles: Forcing opponents to hit your Taunt units guarantees that your key resurrection targets enter the graveyard while preserving your hero's health total.
  • Avoid cluttering the board with non-Deathrattle tokens: Summoning non-Deathrattle minions or tokens consumes board space that N'Zoth requires later to summon your full defensive wall.

Mid-Game Stabilization and Tutoring

Turns 5 through 8 require stabilizing against aggressive boards while securing your late-game pieces.

Taelan Fordring bridges this transition on turn 5. Because Taelan features Taunt and Divine Shield, it frequently absorbs two or more enemy attacks. When Taelan dies, its Deathrattle draws your highest-cost card. With N'Zoth sitting at 10 mana at the top of your curve, Taelan consistently tutors your primary win condition before turn 10.

Executing the Turbulus and N'Zoth Turn

When you play N'Zoth, the Corruptor on turn 10, it summons a full board of your previously destroyed Deathrattles. Because N'Zoth costs 10 mana, it cannot share a turn with Turbulus under normal mana limits. Your resurrected Taunt minions must protect N'Zoth's 7-health body until your next turn.

Once N'Zoth survives to turn 11, choose your line based on the state of the opposing board:

  1. The Board-Clearing Line: If the opponent has multiple large threats or Taunt minions, cast Turbulus targeting N'Zoth. Direct N'Zoth's four attacks into the opposing minions. Because N'Zoth clears the opposing board, your resurrected Deathrattles are free to attack the enemy hero directly.
  2. The Direct Damage Line: If the opponent's board is already empty, attack the enemy hero with N'Zoth first. Applying Turbulus's Battlecry disables hero attacks for that turn, so targeting N'Zoth on an open board prevents it from dealing face damage.

Mulligan Strategy

  • Against Aggro and Midrange: Mulligan aggressively for cheap Deathrattle minions and early defensive options. Keeping a 10-mana N'Zoth or a 4-mana Turbulus in your opening hand leaves you without playable cards on critical early turns.
  • Against Control and Combo: Keep Taelan Fordring to guarantee N'Zoth is in hand before turn 10. Bait enemy silence and transform effects using secondary Deathrattle minions before committing your primary value targets to the board.
