To clear Chapter 4: Beyond the Program in Hero Wars: Alliance Adventure: Alliance Adventure, run a balanced squad consisting of a durable lead tank, a secondary damage dealer, and a defensive support hero, while holding powerful ultimate abilities until the final wave.

Core Team Composition

Chapter 4 introduces high-durability enemies and tough damage checks that punish single-attacker lineups. Relying on raw damage alone often leaves backline heroes vulnerable during prolonged encounters.

Structure your team around three primary functions:

  • Lead Tank: Place your main tank in the lead slot to absorb melee strikes and direct frontal area-of-effect skills away from squishier allies.
  • Secondary Damage Dealer: Pair your main attacker with a secondary damage source to maintain steady pressure on resilient frontlines.
  • Defensive Support: Bring a hero who provides healing, shields, or crowd control to stabilize squad health across multiple waves.

If squad health drops significantly before the final boss, swap out the secondary damage dealer for an additional defensive support hero. Sacrificing minor damage output for survival is essential if your gear and hero star levels are not fully upgraded.

Wave Progression and Skill Timing

Beyond the Program tests endurance across three distinct waves. Clearing the stage requires deliberate energy management rather than immediate skill activation.

  1. Waves 1 and 2: Rely on basic attacks to defeat initial enemies. Use this time to build up all hero ultimate bars to full capacity.
  2. Wave 3 Transition: Enter the final encounter with all ultimate skills fully charged.
  3. Wave 3 Execution: Wait for elite enemies and boss units to group together before unleashing area-of-effect skills for maximum impact.

Hold defensive abilities and healing skills until hero health drops below 50%. Activating protection skills prematurely leaves your team exposed during the highest damage spikes of the fight.

Positioning and Aggro Control

Enemy units in Chapter 4 frequently employ frontal cone and line-based attacks. Adjust your squad positioning to counter these targeting patterns:

  • Diverting Cones: Keep your lead tank far enough ahead of the group so frontal cone skills fail to reach backline support units.
  • Targeting Backline Threats: If line-based attacks bypass your tank and strike squishy heroes, introduce a unit with a taunt or displacement skill to pull aggro back to the front.
  • Survival Tweaks: Swap backline heroes for units with higher natural armor or dodge stats if targeted attacks continue to eliminate your support early in the fight.
