To transition to the Arcane Cultist in IdleOn - Idle RPG, do not immediately abandon your active Bubonic Conjuror upon completing the World 6 Masterclass trainer quest. The Arcane Cultist requires substantial talent point reserves, high talent book caps from the World 3 Library, and heavy mana sustain to outperform an established Bubonic Conjuror. Keep your Mage on Bubonic Conjuror for active farming until your account can support the Arcane Cultist's Tab 5 skill requirements.

Prerequisites and Early Talent Gates

The Arcane Cultist is the Mage Masterclass advancement following the Bubonic Conjuror, unlocked by completing the Masterclass questline in World 6. However, fresh promotions face severe skill point gating. Masterclass abilities demand deep reserves of class and secondary talent points to activate their core scaling loops.

Before permanently switching your primary active character, verify that your account meets these thresholds:

  • Talent Book Caps: Raise your World 3 Flurbo Library max checkout levels toward level 200 or higher using bonuses from Construction, the Salt Lick, and Equinox upgrades. Without high talent caps, Masterclass abilities cannot achieve continuous screen-clearing uptime.
  • Mana Pool and Sustain: Arcane Cultist abilities consume large amounts of mana during continuous auto-combat. Equip high-mana gear, craft top-tier mana potions, and raise your Max MP so your character does not run out of resources and stall mid-fight.
  • Talent Resets: Keep talent reset potions ready. You will need to reallocate points from previous tabs to support both your active attack rotation and core damage scalers.
  • Crystal Spawn Bonuses: Prepare active crystal mob stamps, cards, and Post Office investments. The rapid clear speed of the Arcane Cultist relies on high spawn rates to farm statues and rare drops efficiently.

Core Talent Priority Order

When allocating points into Tab 5, prioritize active skill uptime and cooldown cycling over passive stat boosts. Spreading points evenly across all skills leaves your summon rotations with dead cooldown intervals.

Talent CategoryPriority LevelAllocation Objective
Active Spells & SummonsHighMax out first to ensure autonomous screen clearing
Cooldown Refresh PassivesHighInvest until skill uptime loops without lingering gaps
Mana & Stat ScalersMediumInvest after your attack rotation loops continuously
Passive Defense & Minor StatsLowLeave at 1 point until spare points accumulate

Focus your points using the following sequence:

  1. Active Summon and Mob Spawning Skills: Maximize the abilities that summon autonomous screen-clearing entities or accelerate enemy respawn rates. These abilities replace the respawn cycling previously handled by Bubonic Conjuror's Raise Dead.
  2. Cooldown Reduction and Mana Cycling Passives: Invest into passives that refund ability timers or shave seconds off cooldowns when spells defeat targets.
  3. Stat Conversion and Damage Buffs: Put secondary points into abilities that scale your damage based on total Wisdom, Max MP depth, and World 6 progression mechanics.
  4. Utility and Defensive Passives: Leave basic defensive and minor utility talents at a single point until your offensive loop is fully funded.

Active Skill Bar Configuration

The auto-combat system triggers equipped abilities strictly from left to right. Because the Arcane Cultist relies on keeping autonomous summons active while pulling new enemies into range, an improper skill order causes your character to idle between spawns.

Configure your active attack bar in the following order:

  1. Slot 1 (Primary Mob Spawner): Place your main monster-spawning ability in the first slot so it casts immediately whenever new enemies are needed or the skill finishes its cooldown.
  2. Slot 2 (Primary Area Summon): Place your main Arcane Cultist area-of-effect summon here so high-damage board clears deploy before single-target spells.
  3. Trailing Slots (Bubonic Conjuror Fallbacks): Place secondary attacks, such as poison clouds or mobility strikes, in the remaining slots. These trigger while your primary Masterclass abilities recycle, catching any stray monsters that survive the initial summon wave.

After setting your bar, run an active auto-combat test on a dense World 6 map for five minutes. If your character stands motionless waiting for cooldowns, add lower-tier Mage attacks into the later slots to keep combat triggers active.

When to Switch from Bubonic Conjuror

Bubonic Conjuror remains one of the most efficient classes for specialized active routines, specifically Cranium Cooking runs and active Alchemy liquid generation driven by Poison and Raise Dead loops.

Do not retire your Bubonic Conjuror setup while your Arcane Cultist still lacks the damage or book levels to wipe entire map waves instantly. An unoptimized Arcane Cultist generates fewer kills per hour than a fully built Bubo. Remain on Bubonic Conjuror to gather resources until your Arcane Cultist has the talent points and book levels required to sustain continuous screen clears, at which point it becomes your superior option for World 6 portal pushing, coin farming, and combat experience.
