To progress through World 1 (Blunder Hills) in IdleOn - Idle RPG, assign each newly unlocked character slot to a single dedicated role instead of training every skill on one hero. Your account relies on a shared storage chest, meaning secondary characters gather raw materials offline to supply your anvil while your main combat character pushes through map portals toward the World 1 boss, Amarok.
Early Character Slot Assignments
Unlock new character slots as soon as your total account level permits. Spreading skill points across mining, woodcutting, smithing, and fighting on a single character dilutes talent points and stalls your combat clears.
| Character Slot | Base Class | Primary Role | Key Output |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slot 1 | Warrior | Combat Pusher & Miner | Map unlocks, meat, copper ore |
| Slot 2 | Mage | Woodcutter & Alchemy Prep | Oak logs, birch logs, mana |
| Slot 3 | Archer | Mob Farmer & Crafter | Smithing production, spores, thread |
| Slot 4 | Warrior or Mage | Secondary Harvester | Iron ore or bleach logs |
Your first character must lead map progression from Green Mushrooms onward to open town features, discover new monsters, and unlock NPC quests. Dedicate your second character to chopping wood and your third to mob farming or copper mining. This division keeps raw materials flowing into town storage without pulling your primary combat character off active zone portals.
Managing Harvesting and Combat Push Cycles
Every character earns offline AFK gains, but splitting a character's time between fighting and gathering lowers overall efficiency.
- Leave gatherers on resource nodes: Park your woodcutter at trees and your miner at ore veins until you have enough materials to craft full equipment sets at the town anvil. Reassigning a gathering specialist to combat wastes time because their talent points favor harvesting efficiency over combat damage.
- Track combat requirements before logging off: Portals require thousands of monster kills to open. Before leaving your combat pusher offline in a newly unlocked zone, verify that their accuracy is high enough to hit the enemy consistently and their defense prevents excessive damage.
- Complete Blunder Hills NPC quests: Quests from NPCs like Piccolo and Stiltzcho reward stamps, recipe scrolls, and inventory expansions that benefit your entire roster.
Managing Inventory and Account Storage
Low bag capacity and small stack sizes cause offline gains to overflow quickly in World 1. Use the following steps to prevent lost drops:
- Craft Material and Equipment inventory bags at the Blunder Hills anvil to expand personal carrying capacity.
- Purchase daily storage chest upgrades from the Blunder Hills town shop whenever you have surplus coins.
- Turn in town NPC quests that offer storage chest upgrades as milestone rewards.
- Empty all gathered logs, ores, and monster parts into the town storage chest before starting an extended offline session.
Distributing Early Talent Points
Talent points on Page 1 are limited and should support only the character's designated role.
Combat Characters
Prioritize weapon power and your primary damage stat to speed up kill times. However, accuracy acts as a mandatory barrier for portal progression. If your character misses attacks against higher-tier Blunder Hills monsters, immediately invest points into your secondary accuracy stat. Maintaining 100% hit chance produces far higher AFK kill rates than raising base damage while missing strikes.
Gathering Specialists
Avoid combat passives entirely on harvesting characters. Place talent points into tool power, skill-specific efficiency, and AFK gain percentages. Raising gathering efficiency allows your miner or woodcutter to collect higher-tier resources like Iron Ore and Birch Logs much earlier, accelerating account-wide gear production.
Preparing Gear for Amarok
Do not fight Amarok with basic starter equipment. High incoming boss damage will deplete your food reserves rapidly and cause attempts to fail.
Use your miners and woodcutters to stockpile copper bars, iron bars, and logs. Forge an upgraded class weapon along with a full Copper or Iron armor set at the anvil. Once your combat character has sufficient defense to survive boss attacks and enough accuracy to land hits reliably, challenge Amarok to clear Blunder Hills and unlock the portal to World 2.
