When launching KARDS - The WW2 Card Game for the first time, your immediate priority is clearing all five national starter campaigns against AI opponents before queuing into casual or ranked multiplayer. Finishing these beginner campaigns unlocks the base decks for Britain, Germany, the Soviet Union, the United States, and Japan. This full unlock gives you access to core faction cards and opens the ally deck-building slots required to construct customized decks.

Complete All Five Starter Campaigns

After the initial onboarding battle, four of the five major nations remain locked. You must defeat four scripted AI opponents in each nation's campaign to unlock its starter deck and foundational cards.

Each campaign showcases that nation's distinct tactical focus:

  • Germany: Aggressive frontline pushes and armored units.
  • Britain: Guard units and defensive orders.
  • Soviet Union: Low-cost infantry swarms and damage-based removal orders.
  • United States: Kredit ramp and air support.
  • Japan: Fast blitz units and rapid tempo.

Beyond securing foundational cards, finishing every campaign is necessary for deck customization. Decks in KARDS - The WW2 Card Game require a supporting ally nation alongside your main faction. Leaving campaigns unfinished restricts your ally pool, preventing you from adding necessary support cards to your decks.

Early Progression Milestones and the Level 12 Target

National progression tracks grant experience points (XP) for every completed match played with that specific nation in either AI Training mode or player-versus-player matches. Leveling up rewards card packs, standard wildcards, and gold.

XP requirements increase substantially at higher levels. Raising a single nation from level 15 to level 20 requires far more matches than bringing four nations from level 1 to level 12. Leveling all five nations evenly through early tiers secures the highest volume of free national packs and officer packs in your first week.

Daily Mission Management

Gold is the primary currency used to buy card packs and pay entry fees for Draft mode. The game issues one daily mission every 24 hours and holds a maximum of three missions at a time. If the quest log contains three missions when the daily reset occurs, the new mission is lost.

Check your quest log daily and use your single daily reroll by clicking the refresh icon on a mission card. Reroll low-yield missions or objectives requiring nations you have not yet leveled. Save accumulated gold for high-value bundles or Draft entries once you understand fundamental card interactions.

Resource Preservation and Client Setup

Proper resource allocation and interface configuration prevent wasted currencies and match errors:

  • Save early wildcards: Wildcards exist in Standard, Limited, Special, and Elite rarities. Do not craft expensive Special or Elite cards early on. High-rarity cards rely heavily on synergistic support units and stable Kredit curves. Wait until you settle on a specific archetype, then use wildcards on high-impact Standard and Limited utility cards.
  • Clone decks before editing: Never modify an original starter deck directly. Use the deck options menu inside the Cards screen to create a copy, then make changes to the duplicate. This keeps the functional baseline intact if your card adjustments harm your Kredit curve or frontline balance.
  • Test in Training mode: Test modified deck clones against AI opponents to verify draw consistency before wagering stars in ranked matches.
  • Increase animation speed: Open the settings menu from the main screen and increase card animation speeds. Faster animations prevent multi-card order sequences from consuming your decision time during live turn timers.
