To bypass patrolling threats in KAREI Prologue without triggering combat, you must lower your character's visibility profile by crouching, positioning behind high-density cover, and timing your movement around enemy visual fields. Because enemy AI detection relies primarily on visual line of sight rather than simple proximity, staying undetected requires breaking sightlines before moving across open space.

Managing Line of Sight and Cover

Crouching reduces your character silhouette, allowing you to pass behind low-profile obstacles undetected. Always initiate a crouch state before entering a room or entering an adversary's potential line of sight.

Not all environmental structures provide equal protection. Select cover based on density and visibility:

  • High-density cover: Solid pillars, crates, and doorways that completely obscure your character. Positioning behind these objects breaks line of sight and forces an investigating enemy's awareness meter to de-escalate.
  • Low or translucent cover: Objects that leave your upper body exposed or allow enemies to spot you if you stand up. Avoid relying on low cover when patrolling enemies are nearby.

If an enemy spots you, sprint immediately behind a hard, opaque surface. Breaking visual contact is the fastest way to reset enemy awareness and avoid a direct engagement.

Timing Movement and Entry Points

Noise and movement speed increase your risk level. Sprinting in unconfirmed areas alerts enemies through both sound and fast movement across sightlines. In high-tension areas, walk slowly and move incrementally from one piece of cover to the next.

When navigating enemy patrols and entryways, use the following sequence:

  1. Evaluate from the doorway: Scan the entire room from the entrance before committing to a route.
  2. Select your entry and exit: If multiple entrances exist, pick the doorway furthest from the enemy's active position. Identify a secondary exit immediately upon entry to avoid backtracking.
  3. Observe patrol cycles: Remain still and watch patrolling entities for at least one complete patrol loop to learn their timing and turning points.
  4. Cross during turns: Move between cover points only when the threat turns away or reaches the far end of its route cycle.
