Ignus and Oni Tactical Roles

Ignus and Oni fill fundamentally different roles in your lane defense. Choosing the right hero depends on whether your layout needs stationary area-of-effect control or rapid lane intervention.

Ignus: Area Damage and Lane Anchoring

• Chokepoint Lockdown: Place Ignus where paths converge. His fire abilities soften tightly packed waves and armored enemies before they move into your main tower range.
• Skill Timing: Save Ignus’s area-of-effect cooldowns for peak wave density to maximize kill efficiency and save gold on early tower upgrades.
• Weakness: Ignus struggles against fire-resistant units and offers little value if his active abilities are on cooldown during clean-up phases.

Oni: Mobility and Target Interception

• Targeted Disruption: Move Oni rapidly across the map to catch fast enemies, draw aggro away from fragile towers, or cover open paths.
• Delaying Heavy Threats: Use Oni to stall single, dangerous targets in front of your high-damage towers while you accumulate gold for upgrades.
• Weakness: Oni cannot hold large groups alone and will quickly become overwhelmed if left stationary without support.

Synergizing Heroes with Cursed Crossbows

Cursed Crossbow towers deliver high single-target damage that reaches peak efficiency when paired with hero crowd control and positioning.

1. Setup Layered Defense Line: Build Cursed Crossbows directly behind your hero's holding zone so the towers have an unobstructed line of sight on engaged targets.
2. Combine Ignus with Crossbow Focus: Use Ignus to weaken and group incoming clusters. Allow the Cursed Crossbows to pick off the high-health survivors left after his initial fire damage.
3. Pin Targets with Oni: Direct Oni to intercept fast or evasive enemies, forcing them to stop in place long enough for Cursed Crossbow bolts to land reliably.
