Place the Polymorph Tower near the center of the map or along early lane sightlines to transform high-value enemy troops into harmless critters before they reach your main defensive line. To maximize its effectiveness, pair it with area-of-effect artillery towers that quickly wipe out transformed targets.

How the Polymorph Mechanic Works

The Polymorph Tower is a mage-artillery hybrid card available through the Battle Pass that functions as a crowd-control tool. Instead of relying purely on high raw damage to deplete enemy health pools, it fires projectiles that transform targeted troops into passive, low-threat animals.

  • Soft Kill Utility: Transforming an enemy removes its offensive capabilities and stats. This allows your primary damage towers to ignore transmuted units and target incoming threats that have not yet been transformed.
  • Target Selection: Use the tower primarily to neutralize armored knights, high-health units, and expensive boss pushes that would otherwise absorb significant firepower from your standard defenses.

Tower Placement and Deck Synergies

Place the Polymorph Tower early along enemy paths rather than near your base exit. Because its projectile requires travel time to hit a target, early placement ensures enemies are transmuted well before they press your gate, giving your other towers plenty of time to destroy them in their weakened state.

Managing Tower Weaknesses and Counterplays

While effective against single heavy targets, the Polymorph Tower has specific mechanical limitations you must cover with the rest of your build:

  • Projectile Travel Time: Fast-moving units can outpace the tower's projectile or cause it to miss. Deploy hero abilities or barracks units to stall fast enemies within the tower's field of vision.
  • Swarm Vulnerability: The tower only targets one or two units at a time, making it ineffective as a solo defense against high-density rushes of weak enemies. Maintain dedicated area-of-effect artillery to clear low-health swarms.
  • Opponent Gold Tracking: Watch your opponent's resource investment. Deploy or reinforce your Polymorph Tower when you see an opponent spending heavily on a single lane push, rendering their high-cost investments harmless.
