To beat Malik Hammerfury in Kingdom Rush Vengeance TD+, build an attrition corridor of armor-piercing magic towers along the middle path, place cheap decoy towers at forward entry points, and offset your blocker rally points to avoid his area-of-effect ground slam. Malik marches down the lane with heavy physical armor, cleaving melee attacks, and the ability to demolish towers and stun clustered defenders.
Countering Tower Demolition
Malik targets and smashes nearby defensive structures with his hammer, destroying high-tier investments in seconds if they are placed in his direct path.
- Place forward decoys: Build low-cost tier-1 or tier-2 towers, such as basic archers or barracks, at the earliest bends where Malik enters. Malik expends his demolition skill on the nearest valid target, protecting your expensive towers downstream.
- Avoid front-loaded spending: Do not invest in fully upgraded tier-4 towers near Malik's initial spawn point. Concentrate high-tier upgrades along the mid-lane straightaways where Malik spends the most transit time.
- Save a rebuild reserve: Keep a reserve of gold during the final wave. When Malik destroys a key tower along the central path, immediately rebuild a utility or stalling structure in that slot.
Managing Ground Slams and Shockwaves
Malik periodically slams his warhammer into the ground, emitting an earthquake shockwave that deals heavy area damage and stuns all nearby player units.
Grouping standard infantry directly in front of Malik will result in your squad being wiped out or incapacitated. To prevent this, place barracks rally points slightly behind him or along the outer perimeter of his path. This forces Malik to turn and spend single-target melee swings on individual units instead of hitting your entire squad with one shockwave.
If your hero fights in melee, pull them out between Malik's attack animations to avoid the ground slam stun, or use a ranged hero to maintain continuous damage from outside his shockwave radius. When using minion-summoning abilities, deploy summons one at a time to force repeated single swings rather than offering a grouped target for his slam.
Tower Roles Against Malik
Because Malik possesses high physical armor typical of Hammerhold bosses, physical archers and standard artillery struggle to deplete his health pool. Focus your defenses around magic damage and wave-clearing support.
| Tower Type | Role Against Malik | Recommended Placement |
|---|---|---|
| Armor-Piercing Magic | Bypasses Malik's physical armor to deliver steady single-target damage. | Center straightaways where Malik's transit time is highest. |
| Summoner & Stalling | Spawns expendable blockers to halt Malik's march between slams. | Slightly upstream from your main damage corridor. |
| Slowing & Debuff | Reduces Malik's movement speed to keep him inside firing range longer. | Overlapping the central magic kill zone. |
| Long-Range Artillery | Clears out Hammerhold escort waves so magic towers stay locked on Malik. | Positioned behind frontline towers, outside Malik's smash range. |
Your next step is to enter the final wave with a saved gold surplus, verify that cheap decoys occupy the forward sockets, and stagger your hero and soldier rally points around Malik as soon as he steps onto the path.
