In Kingdom Rush Vengeance TD+, hero kits consist of one manually targeted hero spell and four automatic secondary skills upgraded using hero points. To maximize your defense, reserve manual spells for sudden lane breaches and station your hero where their automatic skills trigger constantly.
Hero Spell and Passive Skill Mechanics
Every hero operates across two distinct skill layers that determine their role on the battlefield:
- Manual Hero Spells: Tracked by the cooldown timer on the hero portrait in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Because these require manual aim and activation, save them for critical threats, such as armored minibosses breaking past your frontline or fast runners bypassing artillery fire.
- Automatic Secondary Skills: These trigger during combat based on internal cooldowns, attack animations, or specific triggers like taking hits or defeating foes. Upgrading them with hero points boosts baseline stats, calls in auxiliary units, or inflicts status effects such as poison, stuns, and freezes. Prioritize unlocking abilities that grant crowd control or extra blockers before spending points on pure single-target damage.
Hero Skill Breakdowns and Roles
Veruk
Veruk serves as a frontline brawler designed to hold choke points and absorb physical hits.
- Warmonger (Active): Summons two Orc warriors to his location, creating instant emergency blocking against heavy melee units.
- Goblin Raid & Brutality (Passives): Goblin Raid provides ranged archer support, while Brutality reflects incoming damage back at attackers.
Asra
Asra is a mobile ranged specialist focused on armor penetration and debuff application.
- Poison Rain (Active): Blankets an area in toxic darts to weaken clustered advancing infantry.
- Sniper Shot & Spiderling Summon (Passives): Sniper Shot fires long-range, armor-piercing rounds that execute low-health targets. Her spiderling summons drop temporary venomous blockers onto the path.
Oloch
Oloch is a disruption mage who misdirects incoming enemies while dealing magic damage.
- Demonic Rift (Active): Opens an area-of-effect portal that damages tightly packed, magic-vulnerable units.
- Clone Manifestation (Passives): Generates demonic duplicates to distract dangerous attackers, forcing elite enemies to waste heavy strikes on expendable decoys.
Mortemis
Mortemis functions as a summoner and support commander who turns fallen enemies into defensive lines.
- Active Support: Directly buffs nearby defensive towers, temporarily converting their projectiles into higher-damage payloads.
- Undead Reanimation (Passives): Raises defeated enemies as skeleton thralls to create a self-replenishing wall of blockers.
Margosa
Margosa is a self-sustaining bruiser built to duel threats on secondary paths without dedicated tower backup.
- Bat Beast (Active): Transforms her into a demonic beast with increased movement speed, attack speed, and durability.
- Life-Steal & Bat Swarms (Passives): Restores her health during combat and releases bat swarms to harass backline targets.
Jigou
Jigou acts as a pure frontline wall capable of halting large enemy pushes.
- Blizzard (Active): Halts entire advancing lanes with freezing weather, buying time for tower focus and ability cooldowns.
- Frost Slams (Passives): Ground stomps apply heavy slow effects and area damage to tightly packed melee waves.
Doom Tank
The Doom Tank acts as roaming mobile artillery that plugs gaps along open defense lines.
- Mortar Barrage (Active): Launches explosive shells into wide areas to eliminate low-health swarms.
- Artillery & Support (Passives): Fires auxiliary machine guns, scatters caltrops to reduce enemy movement speed, and launches repair drones to sustain armor integrity.
Beresad
Beresad flies freely across the map, bypassing ground path restrictions to eliminate high-threat pushes early.
- Hellfire Breath (Active): Blankets an entire stretch of road in dragon fire, dealing true-damage burn over time.
- Fear & Golems (Passives): An aura causes weaker enemies to panic and run backward along the path, while golem drops provide physical ground blocking.
Tramin
Tramin focuses on mechanical hazard placement and burst explosives.
- Missile Barrage (Active): Fires rockets and bouncing munitions to shred dense, armored groups.
- Remote Mines (Passives): Plants proximity mines across the track, providing a safety net against fast runners that slip past your towers.
