Kingshot Hero Gear Upgrade Guide: XP Tricks and Priorities

To maximize your combat power in Kingshot, concentrate your hero gear experience into the offensive equipment of your primary march instead of spreading materials across multiple squads. Upgrading key pieces on your lead march, manually matching troop-specific bonuses, and recycling lower-tier equipment into new gear prevents wasted resources and account bottlenecks.

Concentrate Gear XP on Your Primary March

Distributing enhancement materials evenly across several marches weakens your progression. Because gear experience is severely limited in the early and mid game, splitting resources produces multiple underpowered squads that struggle in campaign stages, arena battles, and rally events.

Focus all available gear XP on the three heroes in your primary march. Combat outcomes rely heavily on the peak performance of your strongest team. Elevating a few primary items to high levels yields greater stat gains than scattering those same levels across secondary heroes. Only invest remaining gear into secondary marches once your primary frontline tank and backline damage dealers reach stable enhancement milestones.

Prioritize Offensive Gear Slots First

Balanced leveling across all equipment slots is inefficient. Gear slots in Kingshot provide distinct offensive or defensive bonuses, and offensive stats dictate how quickly you defeat enemy units.

Enhancing Weapons and Rings first allows your damage dealers to break through enemy formations quickly. The primary exception to this offensive focus is your main Infantry tank, who requires reinforced Boots and Helmets to survive incoming damage and protect your backline. For damage dealers, keep offensive slots several enhancement tiers above their defensive armor.

Transfer and Recycle Gear XP Safely

You do not need to hoard gear XP while waiting for legendary or mythic drops. Kingshot allows you to recycle gear investment without losing accumulated materials:

1. Enhance temporary gear: Level green, blue, or purple equipment immediately to clear campaign hurdles and event milestones.
2. Acquire higher-tier replacements: Obtain superior gear through normal progression and event rewards.
3. Feed or dismantle: Feed the upgraded placeholder item directly into the newly acquired piece, or dismantle retired gear. The system refunds or transfers 100% of the invested gear XP into the new equipment.

Because XP rolls forward cleanly, hoarding materials provides no benefit. Level your active gear immediately to claim higher daily rewards, then transfer that built-up experience into endgame gear later.

Avoid Auto-Equipping Mismatched Gear

Kingshot includes an auto-equip feature, but using it damages squad efficiency. The auto-equip algorithm assigns gear based strictly on raw gear score rather than specialized troop synergy.

Hero gear frequently includes bonuses specific to Infantry, Cavalry, or Marksmen. Auto-equipping can place Cavalry-boosting gear onto a Marksman commander or ranged equipment onto an Infantry tank. Manually inspect and assign your equipment to ensure the gear's troop specialization directly matches the units led by that hero.

Rotate High-Level Sets Across Solo Modes

Different game modes do not run simultaneously, meaning you do not need dedicated, fully leveled gear sets for every team:

• Arena matches: Place your highest-tier offensive pieces on your arena burst-damage commander.
• PvE trials and boss fights: Shift those same upgraded pieces onto your sustained single-target damage dealer before starting the battle.
• Multi-march operations: Reserve separate gear investments only when preparing for alliance garrisons or field combat where multiple marches deploy at the same time.

Manually swapping your best equipment between non-simultaneous modes gives your active squad maximum power without diluting your gear XP pool.
