The supplied source does not establish a required shard target for Generation 4 heroes in Kingshot. Its description says the creator had over 2,200 Mythic General Hero Shards saved when Generation 4 heroes arrived on their server. That is one player's stash, not evidence that you need the same amount.
Don’t treat 2,200 shards as a verified requirement or spend toward that number based on this source alone. It gives no hero-specific costs, upgrade requirements, or shard-allocation advice. Check the requirements for the Generation 4 hero you plan to upgrade before deciding how many shards to save.

Can you add more details about heroes in a future update?
This saved me time in the early game.
This guide answered the exact question I had.
Good guide for Kingshot players. The heroes part was useful.
