In Kingshot, an alliance must connect an unbroken chain of territory flags from its primary Alliance Fortress to a neutral stronghold or ancient ruin before the objective unlocks. Touching the boundary of a neutral facility with an active flag is mandatory to unlock rally rights, activate alliance-wide passive bonuses, and allow members to teleport directly to the battle zone.
Alliance officers should route banner lines days ahead of objective timers to prevent competitors from encircling neutral sites and cutting off access.
The Adjacency Rule and Attack Eligibility
World map facilities cannot be contested in isolation. Kingshot enforces a strict territorial adjacency rule: an alliance can launch rallies or march on a neutral stronghold only when at least one active alliance flag touches the border of that stronghold's designated zone.
Waiting for a stronghold timer to expire before placing flags creates two major risks:
- Hostile Lockouts: Rival alliances cannot place flags on land your banners already occupy without declaring war and burning your flags down first. If an opposing alliance encircles the border tiles of an uncaptured facility before your line arrives, your alliance is blocked from declaring rallies on that node.
- Delayed Rallies: Alliances with pre-established flag connections can launch rallies the exact second the shield drops. Delayed routing forces your alliance to attack after the neutral garrison has already been contested or secured by rivals.
Alliance Buffs and Network Continuity
Strongholds and ruins grant permanent passive stat boosts to all members in an alliance, regardless of their individual castle level:
- Combat Stats: Increases to lethality, health, attack, and defense for infantry, cavalry, and ranged units.
- Economic Production: Faster gathering speed, larger warehouse protection limits, and increased city resource output.
- Alliance Development: Higher technology research speed, increased banner construction velocity, and passive alliance coin generation.
To keep these benefits active, the captured structure must stay connected to your main territory. If enemy forces sever the flag chain between a captured stronghold and your Alliance Fortress, the passive buffs from that facility deactivate immediately until the connection is restored.
Chokepoint Denial and Map Control
Territory flags function as physical barriers against rival alliances. Kingshot's geography contains narrow mountain passes, dense tree clusters, and resource corridors that funnel troop movement between sectors.
Alliance officers should scout these natural chokepoints and build banner corridors through them. Because rival alliances cannot route through occupied tiles, dropping flags across narrow gaps halts enemy expansion toward central high-tier ruins. This secures regional clusters of strongholds for your alliance while forcing competing groups to spend building resources routing around map obstacles.
Mobility, Teleporting, and Rally Speed
Connecting flags to target zones alters alliance movement during battles by providing safe territory borders for member castles.
| Tactical Factor | Flag Connection Active | No Connected Territory |
|---|---|---|
| Alliance Teleports | Members can use standard Alliance Teleports to jump directly onto territory borders. | Requires more expensive Random or Advanced Teleports to position near the target. |
| Rally March Times | Rallies launch from adjacent borders, reaching targets in under a minute. | Long march distances alert defenders, allowing enemies time to reinforce. |
| Reinforcement Safety | Troops travel along allied territory borders with reduced travel times. | Marches cross open neutral tiles, leaving solo marches exposed to enemy field cuts. |
| Burn Recovery | Defensive fires extinguish and recover faster while positioned on allied soil. | Cities burned off alliance territory suffer harsher recovery delays and risk random displacement. |
Placing flags directly against a stronghold allows rally leaders and support players to cluster their cities along the boundary line. This compresses rally march times, giving defending players minimal time to scout incoming compositions or reinforce with counter-heroes.
Managing Banner Caps and Flag Trimming
Alliances have hard limits on active banner counts and construction materials. Extending flag lines across vast distances will eventually stall territorial growth if officers do not trim redundant banners.
Use this sequence to reclaim flag capacity without losing captured nodes:
- Verify the Capture: Ensure the target stronghold is fully captured and garrisoned before modifying any connected lines.
- Trace the Main Line: Identify the single, shortest contiguous flag path connecting the newly captured facility back to your Alliance Fortress.
- Dismantle Redundant Flags: Demolish branching flags or secondary parallel paths that do not cover strategic chokepoints or high-level resource nodes.
- Maintain Connection: Never remove a flag along the primary artery. Severing the unbroken link to the Alliance Fortress deactivates the stronghold's passive buffs.
- Reinvest Reclaimed Slots: Use the reclaimed banner capacity to begin routing toward the next scheduled stronghold or ancient ruin.
