Stop upgrading every building evenly in Last Asylum: Plague: Plague. To progress efficiently, direct your resources and building queues into rushing your Headquarters and its mandatory prerequisites.

Leveling every secondary building equally stalls your account. It drains your food, timber, and steel into low-yield structures while locking you out of critical command milestones. Higher troop tiers, larger march squad sizes, expanded rally capacity, and advanced research branches are all gated strictly behind your Headquarters level.

The Headquarters Prerequisite Loop

Every Headquarters upgrade requires two structures to reach the current tier before construction can begin:

  1. Defensive Wall: Must match your current Headquarters level for every tier.
  2. Rotating Prerequisite: Cycles between the Alliance Center, Hospital, Falcon Tower, or a specific military training camp depending on the milestone.

To keep your building queue moving without downtime, check the prerequisites for the next two Headquarters tiers in advance. Assign one builder to your defensive Wall and your second builder to the required secondary building. Leave parallel, non-required structures untouched so you can start the next Headquarters tier immediately once the current one finishes.

Essential Structures to Prioritize

Outside of direct prerequisites, keep three functional facilities leveled alongside your Headquarters:

  • Alliance Center: Increases the total number and percentage-based value of alliance helps you receive. Each help reduces active construction and research timers, saving hours or days on high-level builds at no material cost.
  • Primary Military Barracks: Upgrading your troop training grounds is the only way to unlock higher troop tiers, which directly dictates your combat effectiveness.
  • Research Lab: Sets the maximum level cap for military, economic, and march speed technologies. Falling behind on the Research Lab halts your technological progress even if your base level is high.

Low-Priority Buildings to Skip

Do not invest construction time or materials into these structures during your main progression push:

  • Internal Resource Plots (Farms, Lumber Mills, Ore Mines): Internal production provides negligible yields compared to upgrade costs. Secure the bulk of your resources by gathering on the world map, completing radar missions, hunting zombies, and opening event reward crates.
  • Warehouses: Upgrading warehouses protects only a small fraction of resources from enemy raids. Protect your stockpiles instead by leaving consumable resource boxes in your inventory bags until you are ready to spend them.
  • Defense Turrets and Traps: Defensive base structures offer minimal combat value during progression and tie up builders that should be working on Headquarters requirements.
  • Secondary Training Camps: Focus only on the specific military camp required to unlock the next troop tier. Parallel duplicate camps waste valuable queue time.

Upgrade Priority by Base Stage

Use this progression path to decide what to level and what to ignore at each stage of your base development:

Maximize Construction Timers

Always start long Headquarters and Wall projects during peak alliance activity. Waiting for active guild members ensures all available help requests register before you use any speedup items, maximizing the percentage of time shaved off for free.

Whenever possible, align your major upgrades with building-focused server events, such as weekly arms races or regional competition stages. Completing expensive timers during active scoring windows returns speedups, diamond caches, and recruitment tickets to reinvest directly into your next tier.
