To unlock and field Tier 11 (T11) soldiers in Last War, complete the end-tier military research nodes, promote existing Tier 10 (T10) troops instead of training fresh units from scratch, and assign your first full T11 ranks entirely to your primary squad.
Prerequisites for Unlocking T11 Soldiers
Accessing T11 units requires late-game progression across base infrastructure, military research, and specialized materials. Research progression serves as the main bottleneck, demanding months of saved research speed-ups and valor badges to reach the final nodes.
| Requirement Category | Prerequisite Milestones |
|---|---|
| Headquarters & Facilities | Maxed HQ level, high-level Barracks, and upgraded Drill Grounds |
| Tech Trees | Full completion of prerequisite Military and Squad research branches |
| Economy | High-level Gold, Ore, and Food production structures |
| Specialized Stockpiles | Accumulated research speed-ups, high-tier valor badges, and tech ore |
To ease the progression burden, prioritize earlier tech nodes that reduce research timers and cut base resource consumption before starting the final T11 branches.
Training Fresh Recruits vs. Promoting T10 Troops
Once T11 capability is unlocked, do not train fresh T11 recruits directly from an empty queue. Direct drafting ties up Barracks queues for extended durations and consumes massive amounts of unrefined resources.
Instead, promote existing T10 units to T11:
- Reduced Queue Timers: Upgrading an active T10 soldier requires only a fraction of the time needed to recruit a T11 soldier from baseline.
- Lower Net Cost: Promotion charges only the difference in resource costs between Tier 10 and Tier 11.
- Event Efficiency: Train lower-tier units during off-peak days, then run bulk T10-to-T11 promotion cycles during active training events in Alliance VS to score points rapidly.
Hospital Management and Healing Overhead
The primary operational danger of fielding T11 soldiers is hospital recovery cost. In combat engagements like Capitol Conquest, Warzone Duel, and Canyon Storm, higher-tier troops significantly reduce incoming casualty ratios against T10 forces. However, injured T11 troops place a heavy burden on your hospital resources.
- High Resource Drain: Healing wounded T11 troops requires substantial amounts of Gold, Ore, and specialized materials compared to lower tiers.
- Slow Recovery Times: Turnaround in the Hospital is slow and requires extensive medical speed-ups or alliance help.
- Overflow Risk: If your Hospital fills to maximum capacity during heavy combat, excess T11 casualties die permanently, wiping out your invested speed-ups and materials.
Reserve pure T11 squads for competitive alliance objectives and decisive PvP clashes. Avoid deploying T11 marches for routine zombie hunting or low-value open-field skirmishing.
Squad Deployment Strategy
Do not split newly promoted T11 units evenly across multiple marches. Distributing small numbers across several squads dilutes their defensive scaling and exposes them to avoidable casualties.
- Concentrate on March 1: Place your initial T11 forces entirely into your primary march behind your highest-invested frontline UR heroes, such as Murphy or Carlie.
- Protect Backline Damage: A durable T11 frontline absorbs burst damage, buying time for backline damage dealers like Kimberly or DVA to cycle their skills safely.
- Expand Gradually: Only after your primary march is completely filled with T11 soldiers should you direct subsequent promotion cycles into your secondary march.

Good guide for Last War players. The resources part was useful.
This helped me understand resources much better.
I wish I had read this before upgrading the wrong thing.
I tried this today and it worked better than my old setup.
